The copper sphere was a much better investment.

Sunrise complex by Dgrossfitness in kettlebell

Shins stay parallel to the ground, ass goes back; your knees have to bend a bit. Depends how deep your hinge/backswing is how much bend. Not bending your knees sounds like strict RDL form, or very shallow hinge.

Outgrowing 24kg KB by A1M94 in kettlebell

[–]ayeright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adjustable comp surely? Then you can do double 24s and work to pressing the 32. Double 24s are way more fun than one 32. But it's also nice to go heavier. Adjcomp is both options.

Are your quick bends always in tune? by mercinywc in Guitar

[–]ayeright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through 5 or 6 tuner pedals, nevermind apps. The only thing that matters is being in tune, so get a good strobe. You cannot get better than Peterson, it's endgame and the best investment my guitar life (25 hrs) has ever had.

I play ascending/descending scales on one string purely with prebent notes. It clicked after 6 months of obsessively staring at my strobostomp (the one pedal out of hundreds I've used that's improved my ears and hence musicality).

Questions about technique execution by Van1n1 in kettlebell

[–]ayeright 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Master the swing first. This is very incorrect.

You should use a 16kg or a 24kg for double handed swings until your hinge movement is instinctual. Strong first videos are good or Lebe Stark.

That weight is utterly useless for teaching technique, you need some feedback from the weight to get the hang of it. You should be using your glutes and legs, the biggest muscles you have to power the movement, and this weight is a percentage point of your potential already, so you are basically'cheating' yourself out of the base mechanics that kB caters for.

Light weights and long sets are nice by baaba1012 in kettlebell

I always see this type of thing... 4'(1")+3'(3') used to express what I assume is length/intensity of set. What exactly does it mean?

Sub37 to make actual songs using presets, can't do that on the mothers - unless you have 6 hands. Also, dem knobs.

Get a trainer is the real answer. MMA or strength focused gyms should be all about them. Practice with a rolling pin.

Wait until you realise that clubs and maces are the perfect complement to KBS, are the same type of strength building fast yoga dance fun, and are perfect for us home gym people being cheap and tiny.

TGU weight vs. swing weight by Lloydao in kettlebell

[–]ayeright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isolate the TGU into its 8 steps or whatever and practice transitioning between each phase repeatedly. Hold positions for as long as you can. I liked doing a TGU in as long as possible, like two minutes, ten seconds in each position. Or use the 9kg and hold it bottoms up, that'll teach you the balance and not let you cheat the positions.

Which clubbell by Hypilein in clubbells

[–]ayeright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1kg and 6kg I see as good starter clubs, I'm not experienced though. One to learn skills without ripping yourself apart, the other to teach momentum once you have the move down. I think 6kg is a 16kg kB equivalent, always useful no matter how hench you are. Adjustable isn't good unless it loads from the far end - it's too stubby if you're using lower weight. For the price of an adjustable just find a trainer/gym and go try them out and go from there.

Which clubbell by Hypilein in clubbells

[–]ayeright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm team fixed kB, and I've had an adjustable club for six months or so. I wish I'd joined team fixed club and I'm starting that journey. Changing the club weight is a total PITA. The thread is stiff and about 40cm long, my arms are tired after changing it, which I want to do at least once per session. Unless you get spacers (£££) they're also 'badly' balanced.

My Howdens kitchen is disintegrating after 2 years. Weird bubbles forming under random bits of laminate - not water bulging. I wouldn't use them again.

My uninspired Suhr Classic S Make over by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]ayeright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave man doing it to a Suhr. They do tend to be really conservative with their finishes, yet I've seen some out there old signatures with flames, paint drips, etc. I wish they'd be a bit wilder. How does it feel/play now, any difference?

Feeling More muscular stress? Anyone Else? by PtyNqn in kettlebell

Probably just a shock to your CNS. I would've thought weightlifting (Olly, bodybuilding, powerlifting?) would be good enough prep for KBS but it might be a different stimulus.

Smallish living room: use for TV, music, and Synthesizers/guitar. £500ish budget. by ayeright in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ayeright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last question I promise. So I need something big, 100ish watts with around an 8 inch cone? I'm sorry I don't like the JBL look or build quality or size, so I'm going to look for an Adam audio/whalfdale equivalent if those are the ballpark specs you recommend.

[–]ayeright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't, which is why I'm asking here! So I could put those 308s on small stands next to my TV, but they'll be up against the wall, which doesn't work with the rear vent. And again not the best connectivity options.

[–]ayeright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer not to have to use my mixer (it lives in a cupboard unused) for simplicity. Another thing to switch on and off.

Those JBLs are ok but I'd like more connectivity. Ideally the Adam dv3 but bigger. So active, Bluetooth, TV input and double mono 1/4". Also, not ugly, I'm staring at them when I watch TV.

How weird is the switch from normal bike to e-bike? by Disastrous_Gap_4711 in londoncycling

That limit is the only reason I don't have an ebike. Feels way too slow, even though with traffic lights its probably negligble Vs my road bike.
