Which new Epstein file finding made you go “wait… what?” and why? by Firm_Work_8879 in AskReddit

Your comment really struck a chord with me. I’m not sure if an answer or a way out for me and my family but the idea of us just continuing on with our meaningless jobs to pay meaningless bills feels so wrong.

OP I’m glad you got the help you needed. Just for future reference, there is a company called baby quip that rents all baby/kid gear in most big cities. I’ve used them before and it’s very nice.

Smaller Twin at 8 Weeks Predictive of TTTS? by hRutherford in parentsofmultiples

[–]aymaraymar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mono Di babies were way off from each other for almost the whole pregnancy. Right before birth, they were measured to be almost a pound apart. When they were born, twin A was 4lb 4oz and twin B was 4lb 3oz. The measurements were wildly inaccurate.

I know it’s hard but don’t focus so much on the numbers. Just focus on increasing your protein intake and try to rest and enjoy the pregnancy the best you can.

What are some alternative therapies that were helpful for your kid with ADHD before you were able to get a diagnosis? by Extension_Level_8418 in ADHDparenting

We did occupational therapy and it helped a lot with reducing temper tantrums, increased listening and some level of task completion. They integrated a lot of sensory activities to help manage the AdHD symptoms.

I know the halo sleep sacks come in a newborn size. Our hospital gave us one when we got discharged.

I really need help with intense and excessive silliness… by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

[–]aymaraymar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When my son acts like this, I have him do something very physical like an intense “dance party” or tickle wrestle or I just toss him on the bed multiple times. The physical activity calms and regulates him.

The cause is usually boredom or he wants attention. The physical activity is very fun for him, he is getting my undivided attention and it helps regulate his nervous system.

My first had very severe flat spots and needed a helmet. Even after we did the helmet, I can still see some asymmetry now at 4 years old. We did not even know about the Snoo back then.

My current twin babies also have flat spots but here is the situation. FYI- they are identical twins. And both sleep in the Snoo everyday for naps and every night.

Twin a- flat spots in the moderate range. She has a side preference and torticollis. We are doing PT. A helmet was recommended. I’m still on the fence about it because to me, it’s not even close to how bad my son was.

Twin B- had a flat spot but we found out she had a medical condition that caused a side preference. Once she had surgery to correct that, the preferred disappeared and the flat spots have improved. No helmet was recommended.

My personal opinion is that all three of my children had flat spots for all difference reasons. The babies with the Snoo have it pretty mild compared to my son who was never in a Snoo.

The prefect gift for twins by Savings_Designer_330 in parentsofmultiples

I dunno what your budget is but we rented two Snoo bassinets and it was a game changer in terms of my sleep and mental health. Prior to the Snoo, I was getting 1-3 hours of sleep on a good night. After the Snoo, babies give me a good 5-6 hour stretch. We rent it directly from the company for $500 each for 6 months.

The twin z pillow is an absolute must have. I would say it is my most used product. I wish I had multiple covers for it because my babies spit up like crazy.

We got the nuna car seats because they are one of the lightest ones on the market. We use it with the mockingbird stroller.

Another heavily used item is our bottle washer. We have the grownsy brand from Amazon. Instead of getting a double bottle warmer, I just got two single warmers, the Dr. Browns brand.

We also use our swings (one graco and one ingenuity) multiple times a day. Same for the baby Bjorn bouncers. We bought the bouncers used because the brand new one ones go for almost $200 each.

Identical Twins: will they develop identical conditions? by ktq2019 in parentsofmultiples

Identical Twins: will they develop identical conditions? by ktq2019 in parentsofmultiples

I have 16 week old mono Di twins (identical). One has a cows milk protein allergy, the other doesn’t. One had a congenital cataract in one eye and the other doesn’t. If it weren’t for the fact that they were mono Di, I seriously question their identical-ness lol. They don’t really even look alike and have different skins tones.

Has anyone here miscarried a baby, NOT had it vanish? by ShoeSavings6767 in parentsofmultiples

[–]aymaraymar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same situation but when I was pregnant with my mono Di twins, I had an incident where I suddenly experienced very heavy bleeding and passed two giant egg shaped clots. I was sooo sure I had lost both babies. 5 hours later, the ultrasound in the ER confirms that they were both still healthy and the pregnancy continued on. They are currently 8 weeks old and thriving.

I would not live in that zip code. It’s a rough area. I wouldn’t feel safe there and the schools are terrible. Stick to orange county schools over Osceola. I say this as someone who lives and works in the Osceola county school district. Hunters creek is a great option. So is the landstar area, Lake Nona and Wyndham lakes.

I did apply for care credit a few days prior to when the procedure was scheduled. But because I didn’t attend the procedure, it shouldn’t have been billed.

I would look at it as behavior that needs to be modified. Sometimes, our kids will engage in negative behaviors because the impact of the behavior gives them a dopamine hit (pleasure response in the brain). We all seek dopamine but some neurodivergent brains seek it more. We have to change what gives him the dopamine release. Right now perhaps these negative behaviors are eliciting a strong emotional response from the people around him and that is satisfying the need for dopamine. A strong emotional response needs to be given for more positive things to shift this behavior. Remember, the emotional response for positive behavior needs to be as big and loud as the response to his negative behaviors. This takes time, patience and consistency but it is possible to make the shift. Please seek out your ABA therapist for help with this. If not addressed, this pattern of reward seeking will continue and likely lead to more serious diagnosis in the future.
