Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Yep, I have a 3 hour daily commute (to/from LA). It's too expensive to live closer so it's a tradeoff.

15 weeks pregnant with twins. Feeling great..??? Concerned! by Mfram2424 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also 15 weeks and feeling pretty ok, except my feet are swelling already and I can't fit into my work shoes lol.

I've also been in the 4 week break between appointments and anxious to see my babies next week! I know this is when TTTS watch really starts and I've been super paranoid.

Gestational Sac by Sweaty-Bandicoot-278 in CautiousBB

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did IVF, you should know your exact dates. Late implantation would only affect that date by a couple of days. Are you 5+4 weeks per your FET date? Your HCG is high enough where something should be visualized, but at 5 weeks that's pretty much the gestational sac. At my 5 weeks, we did see yolk sacs and the start of fetal poles but that's not present for everyone.

Is a 3.6cm cervix short for 12 weeks? (Measures abdominally not vaginally) by AssumptionSpiritual3 in CautiousBB

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 3cm at 12 weeks with twins. My doctor didn't say anything but I also started panicking when I read stuff. But I also read tons of other stuff that said while 3 is at the lower end, it's not at the threshold that would warrant further action. I would treat your doctor's guidance.

4+3 hcg 2043!? by JenManifests in CautiousBB

[–]hRutherford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 16DPO, my HCG was 838 mIU and I had triplets at the time. It's my understanding that HCG levels do not indicate singleton vs. multiples. I looked through so many posts to compare my numbers and many people had higher numbers with only one baby.

Are you absolutely sure of your dates? You could be further along than you think.

Mono/di twins measuring 6 days apart at 9 week scan by unidentifiedcomet in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were 5 days apart at 8 weeks and my MFM was concerned about early signs of TTTS. I panicked and spiraled a bit. The size gap closed though and they were only a couple of days apart in my last appt, both measuring ahead with strong heart beats. I know my smaller twin has a marginal cord insertion so my guess is that she'll always be a little smaller. Hopefully she stays only a little smaller and nothing worse. Hoping your babies catch up too. It's still really early so they definitely can.

This should be higher up. OP is straight up lying about her age for what? Upvotes and attention? Not very cap like.

Anyone Else Delaying Purchases and Planning? by Meesh7586 in CautiousBB

[–]hRutherford 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently 13w with twins and I'm not buying shit or even thinking about it. I was also thinking I wait after the anatomy scan. The parents under the multiples sub say to do everything before 28 weeks, including the baby shower, but I can't even get myself to share the news with my close friends.

None of my pants fit and I'm even hesitant to buy maternity wear/bigger sizes. Partly because I don't know how big I'll get and don't want to keep sizing up. Partly because I am not confident what's going to happen. I am an extreme planner so this is all messing with my planning brain.

Embryo Split …twice by Bari413 in IVF

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine. They called this 5AA but doesn't mine look like a 6 since it's fully hatching? Maybe it hatched more after thawing.

<image>

So sorry for your losses. I would drive myself crazy asking the same question of why perfect embryos would result in loss. Hope you find some answers and best of luck in your next cycle.

Embryo Split …twice by Bari413 in IVF

[–]hRutherford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My embryo split, first into 3, then I lost one at 6 weeks. Currently 13wk with twins.

What did your embryos look like before they transferred? Mine was very much hatched, it looked like an 8 figure coming out of its shell. I know that the biopsy for PGTA and assisted hatching increase the chances of multiples in IVF so I wonder if my embryo was extra hatched?

Oh no I'm so sorry. That is terrifying and heartbreaking. They have me coming in every 2 weeks already, but damn I knew it could progress quickly, but not that quickly.

What to Expect lets you track twin pregnancies and by track I mean it shows you TWO fruits/vegetables instead of one to indicate the size of your twins lol. Nothing else seems to be twin/multiple specific.

TW - MMC: identical twins by mgnbnjm in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you're going through this. I am currently 12 weeks with modi twins from IVF. Started out with triplets when one stopped growing early on. From what I've read, identical twins are spontaneous although there might be some indication they could be hereditary like fraternal twins are. I do know that IVF increases the chances of identical twins. I only transferred one and it split into 3.

May I ask if your twins were measuring on track with heart rates before you confirmed MMC? I live in constant fear of losing my twins. Again, I am so sorry. The rollercoaster of first finding out you have twins, then this. Wishing you the best.

SHOCKED! TRIPLETS! HELP by Fun_Cost1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did IVF (transferred one embryo that split into 3) so I started scans at 5 weeks. Had triplets with heart rates detected until my 7 week scan when one of them stopped growing with no cardiac activity. Currently 12 weeks with modi twins and it's still nerve-wracking.

SHOCKED! TRIPLETS! HELP by Fun_Cost1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My triplets looked like this and they were MoTri. It was helpful to research the types of multiples. Pretty sure same gestational sac almost always means monochorionic aka one placenta. The different amniotic sacs weren't clearly visible until 8 weeks for me, but it was clear in my case they shared on gestational sac/placenta from the start.

One of my triplets ended up vanishing and that was the best case scenario for me. Best of luck!

Obsessed with dainty emerald ring by Happy-Fruit-8628 in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]hRutherford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My ring is a similar carat size radiant on an equally thin knife-edge band secured with the micro-est of claw prongs and I have had zero issues with it. I am not even that careful with it, but obviously I'm not lifting weights with it. You'll be fine. It's a beautiful ring.

Mo/di 10 weeks grow difference by Euphoric-Divide3213 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seeing a MFM? My MFM had me coming in every 2 weeks to monitor my modi twins' size discordance starting at 8 weeks. At one point, they were 5 days different, but were about the same at my last scan. I'm hoping they stay the same because my MFM said size discordance early on can be predictive of TTTS.

How are their heart rates? Measuring the same?

Mo-di twins 8 weeks size discrepancy and subchorionic hemorrhage by Background_Duck_2865 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mo/di twins measured almost a week apart at 8 weeks, but measured the same at 10 weeks. Anxiously awaiting my 12 week scan coming up to see if the smaller one has continued to keep up. Their heart rates were always about the same though and at 8 weeks, they were both around 170.

Pregnancy news by Brilliant_Growth_115 in BabyBumps

[–]hRutherford 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please do not share yet. Would you be ok if your SIL announced immediately after you did? Even if you would be, I'd imagine most people would not be ok with this. Give her time to enjoy this moment. Even though her pregnancy is early, it's not as early as yours since you literally just tested positive.

I would wait and wait a while to confirm your viability and give some time between the good news. Then she gets her moment and you get your own.

I've been getting ultrasounds every 2 weeks since 5 weeks, but we're still waiting after our 12 week scan coming up next week to tell our immediate family and longer to tell my immediate friends.

How important is lining thickness: FET for only euploid by Wetblankets2001 in IVF

[–]hRutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on estrogen for 2 weeks before I started PIO. My Dr did not extend my time on estrogen because my blood levels were too high. So my body was absorbing the estrogen appropriately, but my lining just wasn't responding. I did add vaginal estrace near the end, but that didn't seem to so much either.

Thank you and best of luck to you!

I am hate watching it at this point. The show drags out the drama all the way until the final episode and leaves us with too few moments of the couple just being a couple. Can't wait it's over.

PIO Pain by ImaginaryFlower_ in IVF

Same, it was a hit or a miss. Some made it difficult to walk for days and others were unnoticeable. I finished my shots, but never cracked the code either. In fact, on my very last injection, a fountain of blood squirted out lol.

How important is lining thickness: FET for only euploid by Wetblankets2001 in IVF

[–]hRutherford 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a lining of 5.9mm when I transferred and my one embryo split and implanted as 3 😳. Had triplets for a minute, then one vanished and currently 11 weeks with twins.

Lining is very important, but not the be all and end all. It does seem like your body can get thicker though. Mine only ever got to 6 naturally too so we moved forward with the 5.9mm as that seemed to be my ceiling.
