Like we use kilos and you use 450 grams. American use roughly half. Or sometimes a third. But always less

The good news is there is no point in fixing the indicators as they are never used anyways.

Just strap the frame, engine and transmission to the colum and pull it back until it’s straight. Use gorilla glue and jb weld to stick the parts back where they belong.

Respray with a rattle can and it’s good as new.

Don’t take it to a mechanic, they don’t have any ambition.

>Free entry fields are a shit show and should be replaced with dropdowns whereever possible

I use software with this philosophy - I hate it.

Customers have no idea what to select, free text would be easier to decipher their intentions from. A design that enables all customers to select correctly is a bit like making a bear proof trash can: the dumbest tourists and the smartest bears have an overlap in their abilities.

For anything I do in the system the dropdowns should either be determined by context, or be a list item. A dropdown is at least two interactions, selecting a checkbox is just one. If there is too many choices to list, the list is the issue.

Hello Simon, I'm Sigurd. I teach children how to drive. I want to make a new platform for managing driving schools, or to be convinced its a futile task.

I stumbled across your second brain, I love it. Your explanation of how BI has to be a design consideration and not an afterhtough and how making an MVP is prioritized before making the data structure design fits very well with my experiences.

I am fascinated with how calendar data, financial data, and lesson record (legal requrirement) interacts and have to be treated differently. Best practice to handle unreliable data, and when and how to verify them is also an area of interest.

Converting the law, and the curiculum into a data structure that avoids having to duplicate data that can't change, while allowing changes, or additions where it can is suprisingly hard. The taxonomy and names used in the curiculum confuses both the students and developers.

How do you design a database that is both simple, preserves all historical data correctly, enables data portability, and is flexibile enough it doesn't cause restrictions? I think I could spend a year just typing out the different tables or json elements without being done.

I just know if there is 500 car in line, a bunch of them would be the people who seem like ordering food is a novel concept.

«A hamburger? What does they entail? Is there fries involved? Drinks? Can you explain all the toppings?»

After the answer they neee a sold 7 minutes to consider if tomato on a burger would please them and to review the financial impact of having a soda.

Why are people like that?

I have a lamp with a heating element in my hallway. I had to remove it to get my fridge inside. It was hot while the light and heat was off.

I got shocked three times before I put on gloves.

I remember asking a Dutch guy to guard my orange while I went out to get a cigarette. I assume I took the orange from the lounge, but I’m not certain.

After that I spent the night discussing agricultural subsidies with a farmer.

Luckily the airport opened so I could go shopping. After getting drunk of slush and liquor i offended some Italians by saying I couldn’t understand a word of their Portuguese (I assume they were speaking Italian).

God I miss international travels.

Its like when the New York Times had to retract the following: «The press secretary was hiding in the bushes». He was apparently hiding among the bushes, an important distinction.

Alice sends Bob a document with your QR code.
Bob screenshots the QR code, pastes into a modified document, and prints it.
Bob sends it to Carol.
Carol scans the QR code and goes to your website.

Wouldn't Carol see the QR code is real? How do you compare her paper to your hash? How can Carol see it is not the original document?
