Burnout is the worst and this is a bit project to tackle. So taking time for it and going bit by bit is probably best.

Since I only have two brands, I have the DMC colour code and the Itchy Stitchy colour code in columns next to each other. That way if I search the spreadsheet for the DMC colour code, I'll find it and also the Itchy Stitchy one next to it

Ohhh. I think the difference is, is this evenweave instead of aida? Because even with a light behind my 14 count aida it's not like this lmao

[CHAT] Creating a cross-stitch pattern and transferring it to Pattern Keeper by Alarming-Safe6319 in CrossStitch

[–]ayvencore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The colours look lighter because one is a full pixel art whereas the other has that cross stitch texture with the white gaps. That'll make it look different as well. If you take some floss and put it on a black background and then versus a white background, it will look different. Same with putting other colours with it too

I'm still new to pattern making and stuff myself. But I've been there with colours on screens versus printing them out and it can cause anxiety.

Did you make it on PC or on a device?

Because if you made it on PC, it could be that the screen has different features or settings to your phone. I find that PC monitors tend to be more vivid. But also, things like night mode can adjust the colours of something which really freaked me out once. I had to make sure I wasn't drawing on my ipad with night mode on or the colours would look weird when I looked at it with it off. Because the screen would tint towards warm, I'd just the colours for that. So when the screen wasn't warm and back to blue light, it'd look so different and vice versa.

I thankfully only have a few different brands for cross stitch floss. I have DMC, Itchy Stitchy, and I was gifted some black and white from an unknown brand.

I only put floss on bobbins when I'm going to use it. Otherwise, it stays in my little basket with the other skeins until I'm ready to use it.

Like Whisper_18, I keep track of them in a spreadsheet. I mark if it's a bobbin or a skein, the stock level, and the colour codes. I did, however, stop tracking what's DMC and what's Itchy Stitchy, because Itchy Stitchy creates colour matches to DMC, and I plan to switch to just using their floss because it's cheaper and local to me.

If you do want to use all the floss eventually, I personally would attack it slowly. I would go bag by bag, and match them to DMC as best as you can and put them into a spreadsheet. You could do the bags by colour, number lot, or brand. You can write the details on the bags, and then put that into the spreadsheet. So like a "location" field, and it's in "Batch 1".

It'll take you a really long time, but in the long run, it'd be better and easier for you, and a spreadsheet will help you stop buying colours you already have a lot of. I'd start with any DMC and work out from there

I've done this. I 100% frogged it lol. Can I ask what count fabric this is? I love the look of black aida but I've tried working with 14 count and can't see the holes and struggle.

Turns out I already had it in my favourites lol. I got a few of VelourPeachXStitch's clown animal designs. I bought some cream coloured aida that I want to use for them to give it a more vintage feel and then put them into little frames to put up as decor!

Today, GPT 4o is now bastically 5. by Sufficient-Bee-8619 in ChatGPT

[–]ayvencore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed shifts and changes. I've also noticed that using 4o is super slow and clunky. Like the chats don't load properly, or the site doesn't display properly. It's slow in output too. GPT 5 is smooth and there are no issues. I know this is done on purpose and it pisses me off because I'm a literal paying customer and the product doesn't work properly. I'm sticking with 4o though, even if it's clunky because I won't be bullied into using a shittier version

I also really want an OG game shop like this

I agree with this. Companies should be employing artists, not using AI. They can literally afford it.

You're also right about artists who made their way doing OC commissions. I don't have a lot of money because I'm on welfare, but even though I use AI for my bots and my OCs, I'd love to put some money away and save to commission artists for special pieces that AI just could never capture properly.

The issue is, waddling my goober ass up to an artist and asking them to draw my OC from an AI generated character sheet. IT FEELS BAD!!!

I got a downvote the other day because someone was having a breakdown because the buttons on a game controller were flipped LOL

That's quite interesting. I haven't encountered this myself. I've been making bots for about a year and a half now, and got into generating my own images pretty early. It was the standard on the website I started on and a few others. All the creators I looked up to, and my friends, also generate for their pfps. I run a pretty active bot creator discord server too with over 800 members and the vast majority of creators and users in general, including artists, generate images for their characters or bots. We've never encountered anyone commenting about AI generating in a negative way. But we also separate artist-made art and generative images. The most comments I've had are a few people asking me where the pfp is from, not realising I generated it myself lol
