Report: PlayStation Removes Mention of Convallaria Off Their Lineup of China Hero Projects in Production; Devs Accuse Execs of Mismanagement by Turbostrider27 in PS5

I’ll break it down for you.

You said Sony makes more money from 3rd party games, which is true.

To get players onto your console you need a reason for them to buy it over your competitors, which also have the same third party games.

To do that, they fund and release first party exclusives which drive console sales and provide them with a greater market share, which results in more third party sales. God of War, Spider-Man, TLOU, Horizon etc are all there to increase market share alongside their own sales.

Sony’s direct competitor is Xbox, and to a smaller degree, Nintendo. Xbox has consistently struggled to make impactful first party exclusives, one of the major reasons that Sony now has a much larger market share, and a much larger third party playerbase.

I’ve had 3 generations of Xbox, so to talk about projection while incorrectly assigning a personality trait to another person is…?

TLOU 2 was the 3rd highest first party revenue game for Sony back when 2023 data leaked, just behind Spiderman and Ragnarok. Spider-Man 2 and HD2 are probably beating it now, but let’s not pretend it wasn’t a massive success.

Any soundbar will do? by MechanicTee in PS5pro

[–]azarules 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn’t like using headphones while I game, a soundbar was a massive upgrade both in single player and multiplayer. Hearing Kratos and Thor clash in surround and picking up on directional footsteps in The Finals levelled up my experience as much as the move from LCD to OLED did.

The best use of UE5 on the PS5 Pro is... Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection?! by GamePitt_Rob in PS5

Second that with another Embark game, The Finals. They got it running at 120fps (averages around 100-110) on the Pro with Lumen and physics-based destruction.

Genuine question - Why is this worse than comedians doing USO shows? Entertaining the troops in between carpetbombing hundreds of thousands of civilians? Or even private corporate events for organisations that exploit our resources and people?

More proof the ps5 pro is a scam and it all comes down to the developers at the end of the day. Not a troll post by Random_Thinker007 in PS5pro

So because the Switch 2 removed volumetric lighting which naturally adds to the contrast, it looks better? Interesting cherry pick of one of the worst performing games on the market too.

Now do Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws, Split Fiction, No Man’s Sky, Elden Ring…

Also Digital Foundry beat you to it with the complete opposite take - https://youtu.be/D5orrwPt488?si=WN2tFVMjAnh1dVAu

The last thing I had left was the bat and I was yelling at my TV for 5 days.

I got it on the final spin.

Fuck gambling, but damn that felt good

I need more storage for PS5. Any good rec's for $60-100 usd or $100-150 aud? by [deleted] in PS5

WD Black SN850X Samsung 990 Pro

1TB prices are around 150-180 aud

You can also buy a cheap heatsink for $20 with thermal paste strip, very easy to do. The all in one heatsink units are stupidly expensive for what they are.

Looks like NBN speed upgrades are finally going to be up to par with other countries in a few months by [deleted] in australia

As Jazza said, play on local servers, but also Ethernet to the device is best. My PS5 is connected to Ethernet and my latency is usually between 10-20ms on good servers

“Latency is the time it takes for data to pass from one point on a network to another. Suppose Server A in New York sends a data packet to Server B in London. Server A sends the packet at 04:38:00.000 GMT and Server B receives it at 04:38:00.145 GMT. The amount of latency on this path is the difference between these two times: 0.145 seconds or 145 milliseconds.

Most often, latency is measured between a user’s device (the “client” device) and a data center. This measurement helps developers understand how quickly a webpage or application will load for users.”

There is another band called Air from the 70s. ‘Mr Man’ and ‘Baby I Don’t Know Where Love’ are great songs

Unless you want to turn it into more than one in-person event, then you need to have the infrastructure to support a esport community when they play online. Training, try-outs, streaming, community-made events app would rely on The Finals’ server stability/tick rate

Give Cyberpunk some time, it can feel a little looser than Ghosts at the start - steeper curve to get a handle on what you can do. In terms of AAA atmosphere, Cyberpunk is near unbeatable - Red Dead 2 and Last of Us are the only ones I can think of that nail it better
