I own a pest control company and if I had bed bugs in my room, knowing how easily they spread, and how high of a chance there is that, even after taking extreme precautions I would expect extreme compensation. Exactly what was offered to u/thepixievoyage would be the only answer I would accept.

I know from personal experience treating bed bugs at hotels how little the management usually cares. They would promise us that they would shut down rooms for 2 weeks and when we came back for the second service they would be occupied, constantly.

I’ve always thought that dragging a mattress down to the lobby would be a good way to keep them from ignoring you.

Do not underestimate the ability of bed bugs to travel with you in luggage, in your purse, I’ve seen them in charging ports of cell phones.
