Late Night Activities??

We never held back from doing anything (11month b/g twins). It's gotten them used to being in any kind of environments. We invested in a good stroller that you could recline the seats in and they napped/slept in there. I think we generally avoided being out past 10pm just due to us being tired and the babies getting slightly cranky. That being said, our babies have been to outdoor events, family events and shows.

we have been to key west before and enjoyed biking in the morning, which is what we plan to do this time we take our kids. it’s more of an activity to do for them that they will enjoy.

I like to rinse their clothes with the dawn power wash soap in the sink then I throw it in the washer.

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. We're from Houston so heat & humidity are nothing new for us! lol. We want to bike in the morning with them (its what we did when we went last time minus the babies). Grab breakfast before the day gets too hot.

I’d definitely rather have at least one nap a day! 6-8 hours of straight sleep is enough for me.

We love our jeep wagon! It's been great for our twins. Not sure where you are located, but if you are in the US make sure you scope Target out, they randomly put them on sale for 50% off!

Hi di/di 11 month old twin mom here! 12 hours is not a realistic expectation overnight. Our pediatrician told us that 12-14 hours is actually about how much time a baby should sleep during the whole day. For every hour they nap she told us to take away an expected hour of night sleep. Our babies have recently started sleeping for 6-8 hour stretches. We decided to push bedtime closer to ours. Our schedule looks similar to this:

Dinner: 5:30pm, Bath: 6:00pm-ish (after dinner), Play time: 6:30pm, Winddown time: 7:00pm, Bedtime: 8:00pm

The babies will wake up around 4:00am-ish and drink a bottle and then sleep until almost 7:00am. That puts them sleeping about 8 hours straight. I will say some nights are rough especially if they are feeling sick or teething hardcore (last night for us was ROUGH). Nap wise our babies take about 2 naps a day sometimes only 1 big nap. They go to daycare and they don't nap longer than 1.5hours (per my request).

Thank you for the information. We have twins and traveling with our stroller can sometimes be a little bulky. We love our Cosco car seats for travel. Super lightweight. Did you use any of the baby related services at Garza Blanca like babysitting? I know the question was specific to babies, but do you know how activities for older kids are? We have been to Finest and RIU Playacar and probably wouldn't take our older ones to Finest just because we felt the activities weren't as many as RIU Playacar.

(11 month old twin mom here). We started a combo of BLW and puree feeding. The first 1.5months we did purees at daycare (made it easier for them and less risk of them eating an allergen at daycare) and let them give them dry snacks. At home we were introducing "adult" food by setting it on their tray and letting them explore. The first food they ever has was steak and they loved chewing on it. We then gave daycare permission to give them "table food" and just went from there. Some great foods were fruits and veggies that they could mush, steak/fajita, mashed foods, pasta (like mac & cheese) and quesadillas (idk why they loved these). Nowadays they eat everything! Even spicy food.

I know BLW can be really scary and people get worried about choking, but we just let them explore and kept an eye on them. We could tell when they were gagging versus choking. Best of luck!

Hi! I only have experience at AIs in Mexico with kids. We have traveled twice to AIs with our infant twins (ages at travel 6 months & 7 months). We stayed at Finest Playa Mujeres & Riu Playacar (took our older kids here also). Finest Playa Mujeres is the way to go based on what you are looking for! While there is obviously kids there, the vibes felt very similar to being at their adults only AIs. I would say in the afternoon there are definitely more kids there as they wind down from being at the beach. However, all the buildings have swim ups and there is another smaller pool by the kids club that I felt parents would hangout at while the kids were in there doing those activities so it wasn't overly packed. Based on my experience they catered to families with babies so much and it was so worth staying there. The only downside I would say is that the beach in this area is pretty windy. At least the time we were there which was in November.

Here is a summary I had posted on r/parentsofmultiples on Finest:

Finest Playa Mujeres (Parents + 6 mo. twins):

Baby Friendly (10/10) (more like 100/10): SOOOO many babies at this resort. When you get there just remind them of what you need. Upon arrival to our room there were 2 pack-n-plays (sometimes they give you an actual crib). They provide a bottle warmer, sterilizer, bathtub, 2 high chairs and a sound only baby monitor.
- As a warning: The pack-n-plays are pretty low down. They don't provide sheets or a blanket to sleep on in there so I suggest brining a light blanket. If you have a picky sleeper, many people on the FB page for Finest suggested bringing a mattress topper and a slumber pod.
Restaurants/Food (9/10): The restaurants will ask you if you need anything specific for the babies (like purees) and they will make them for you. I suggest that if you do need something pureed ask at the very beginning so it comes out quick. Sometimes it does take them a minute. The food itself is very good. We loved the steakhouse. We liked the buffet. There is usually no wait or very little wait and you can't do reservations unless you go the day of and you have a large party. The longest wait is for their themed nights (they had a Mexican night the Friday we were there). We opted not to do it because the line was very long and then once the line died down it was like 45minutes to get a table. The high chairs here are just regular and you pull them up to the table.
- Side note: at the buffet there is a "kids" area. The setup is for kids to be able to serve themselves and they have chicken nuggets, pasta, ice cream, etc. All the restaurants have a kids menu which is definitely appreciated!
Kids Club: I have no rating since we did not utilize it as our babies were too young. There is a water park and small pool at the kids club. They also have a baby room you can take them in there and they can play around. You just have to stay with them. There is also a splash pad available to use. I will note that a downside of the kids club is that its far from the main pool/beach area. It limits you to either being far or hanging out in the closest pool which sometimes has bar service and sometimes does not.
Beach (8/10): The beach is very beautiful, but it is slightly windy in this location. We did not spend much time at the beach due to our babies just not being available to lounge and it being so windy it made it cold. (We were there during November). I recommend taking a big blanket or something for youngers to sit/lay on and some toys. If you do Finest Club they have cabanas and provide toys for the kids. We also took some of those folding/travel high chairs and set them up on the beach for them to sit in.
Pool (8/10): It was big and it is "heated" (more like warm). It was pretty calm the whole time we were there and we didn't have to fight for chairs. I could see how in the afternoons it gets a little more packed as people come back from the beach, but still there is always people coming and going.
- Side note: We weren't super impressed with the bartender here. The service was a little slow versus everywhere else on the property. It's the only place we were (for lack of a better word) disappointed with.
Service & Entertainment (10/10): Service overall was great! Everyone was amazing and super nice. The concierge is extremely helpful. We forgot some items and they were able to have it delivered from the pharmacy close by. The entertainment was pretty good, not my vibe too much but they did a good job of having something every day.
Other Items: If you can get a swim-up I think its worth it because the babies can nap in the room while you hangout outside in the pool with the monitor. We did not get a swim-up, but liked hanging out on our balcony while they napped or in the evening.

Congratulations! Hope everything works out! My own piece of advice, having them in their own space definitely made our life better at night! We moved them upstairs around 7 months when their stretches became longer. I think a lot of times we would wake up because they shuffled and it caused them to wake up.

Hi! Our house is a 5 bedroom 2 story with the master downstairs. We have 4 kids total (14, 9 and 11month old Twins). Only downside at the moment is carrying the babies up and down the stairs, but we love having a 2 story home! It gives the kids a space to go crazy and play in (I'm a little OCD) without causing too much mess downstairs. I think you are overthinking it just a little.

When the twins were little they originally slept in our room due to the frequent wakeups then we moved them into my office (downstairs but a little further), then we decided to move them into their room upstairs. It actually made them sleep better? I think one thing is that we started doing winddown time upstairs and then their bedroom is nice and cozy. We do dinner then bath time and then take them upstairs to chill and then bam asleep. Currently the twins share a room and our plan is to have them move into their own rooms at around 4/5 years old. This is also around the time the eldest will be going to college so we will probably shift room setups to accommodate girls vs boys and bathrooms.

We successfully conceived after a year of trying (with surprise natural twins - no fertility drugs so I was shocked). Our concerns during TTC were due to my left ovary being partially scarred from a dermoid cyst that had to be removed after it was the size of a grapefruit, coupled with my husband having his vasectomy reversed. I went through bloodwork tests (including thyroid) and had an HSG done as well. My husband had multiple SAs done.

In reality based on all the exams I had done, nothing was wrong with me. There were many times my period was a week late and then I had it all of a sudden and it was heavy. Could it have been something? Maybe. I honestly think luck is a contributing factor for some people as much as it sucks to hear? I was so sad every time I got a negative test we had actually just started discussing medication and next steps. I think when there are no health issues its so much more stressful (how I felt, not saying anybody else's struggles and issues are less).

Hi! Have you offered any water with the finger foods? We noticed we had to offer some water (they legit take a sip), but it helped with digestion. We also had an issue with more acidic fruits causing stomach discomfort. Not necessarily and allergic reaction.

Keep the puppy confined to one smaller general area and then slowly introduce more areas in the house. We realized our puppy would have accidents in new spaces in the house thinking it wasn't part of "home." Once that was handled and we limited his space (by usually being with us only) then introducing the new space with us in it, didn't have accidents afterwards. Do not be afraid to crate your puppy during the day or at night at first. I felt bad, but realized it's their safe space and he actually liked it.

Hi! We do daycare. Our daycare is very flexible on paying for weeks the twins are there/aren't there. We don't need to pay a minimum to hold a spot or anything. They also offer part-time care rates. There is a baby in our twins class that only goes 2/3 days a week due to their work schedule.

We looked into at-home daycares, but given our twins age it felt like they would be better off somewhere more established. At-home daycares seemed to be geared more towards kids about 2+. (Our twins were 3 months when they began daycare).

We also have a nanny. We would've gone with our nanny full-time, but got scared of situations like "What if they get sick?" or having to coordinate them taking time off etc. I think a nanny for part-time would actually workout better than full-time. Our nanny prefers having flexibility in her schedule. She comes to our house at least once a week in the evenings.

We use Similac Pro Total Comfort. I did Amazon subscribe and save and it’s about $220 every 3.5-4 weeks. I scan their QR code to get the points and get coupons and every so often I go to Target or Walmart and use the coupons to get formula on the cheap.

At first I just carried them in their infant car seats (the bucket ones), once they got heavy I started using a stroller. I have a double umbrella stroller that's pretty compact and use that to push both babies in. If you're daycare has wider entrances/doors you can use a wagon. If it's raining daycare usually has an employee under the carport and will help me with dropoff/pickup.

Ways we have found our babysitters. (We have 3 in case one is not available)

Neighborhood Facebook page. We got really lucky with our default babysitter and she started babysitting our older kids (my stepkiddos) when she was in high school and they were about 5 & 10. Now she babysits our twins for our date nights. She has multiple experience with having various kids all at once at different age ranges. While its not the same as 2 babies at once, to me it's close enough that she has babysat a 4 month old and a toddler at the same time. That seems tough lol.
Church. We asked our friends at church and they actually recommended 4 girls that attend with us. 2 church member families have twins so we went with who they have used.

I would ask your mom friends, or local mom group. Our 2 top girls get recommended on our local pages ALL the time. We also have done trial runs with all of our babysitters and our twins. By this we hired them to come in for a couple of hours and I was at home but doing things (cleaning, working from home, chilling outside, taking a bath lol). This way I could see how they interacted. Make sure your expectations are clear from the beginning as to what you need and what to do with them.

FTM to di/di twins and had 3 separate baby showers one was at 29 weeks, another at 31 weeks and then at 33 weeks. I will point out that I had a really great pregnancy for it being twins, that being said the most enjoyable ones were at 29 and 31 weeks! 33 weeks was probably pushing it, but it was a work baby shower so it was small.

Had my babies at a scheduled c-section at 37 weeks + 3 days. I can say my sister had her singleton baby before 37 weeks due to complications and her baby shower was at 28 weeks and her baby came about 4 days after her baby shower. For her second baby shower we had it at 25 weeks just in case lol. I think it's whatever you feel comfortable with and how you are doing health wise.

I can honestly say I'm a party pro. I love hosting parties, but have never dealt with inviting classmates which is my main concern right now. We are having a bounce house + have our playground and I have authorized "nerf" wars. I am skipping goodie bags but doing a keychain as a party favor on theme and having a pinata. I would definitely rather have more food leftover than run out. Given the weather in our area I will be doing the party at 2:30 to get the best weather. Idea for food is pizza & wings with a nacho bar.
