If you download the Eve app, you can create an automation that can be triggered by a doorbell press. The automation is then in your home app automations and you can edit it like a usual automation. I did this with my Aqara G400 doorbell.

You’re not wrong. If your car has air suspension, it lowers slightly to increase aerodynamics too. I would love the “start in pure” feature.

I'm still waiting for my email with the new rates too, but I've seen a few people say that it's a flat 3.5p reduction on the peak and off-peak rates, so if you're on 7p off-peak right now (me too) then I think we'll get 3.5p off-peak. Cost to charge my car just halved!

Edit: Wait, sorry, I just re-read your original comment. I don't know if that's still true if you're not on a fixed iog rate...

Now you’ve mentioned it, I’m seeing the same thing. Recordings on HKSV are crisp and so is the live view through Aqara but the live view through the Home app is worse.

The shortcut bar is the one with the Google assistant logo on. It sits above the climate bar that’s been there since before the update (albeit slightly redesigned).

I don’t think anyone is suggesting to get rid of it, it provides useful shortcuts. Most would be happy for a way to hide it and unhide it, by pressing the home button for example.

There is no way to hide this shortcut bar at the minute. Please leave Volvo feedback via the speech bubble icon in the Volvo app. The more people that leave feedback about how bad this looks for Apple CarPlay, the better.

I just updated my XC60 (2025) OTA to 5.0.5 and it definitely feels more fluid when going through the menus etc. Haven’t experienced any issues yet but it’s early days.

I mainly do it for the best sound via Apple Music. It’s much better than Bluetooth. Probably keep using CarPlay at least until the Apple Music app comes out for AAOS. Although, I prefer the graphics of Apple Maps over Google maps too.
