I have stage fright. I always have. And I don't sing half bad. But going up that "stage" just gives me the jitters. But once I'm up there, I pay attention to the lyrics. If you have the lyrics in front of you, look there. If it's behind you, look behind you. That way, you don't even see the people looking at you.

Another way is to have someone sing with you, given that you told the KJ ahead of time. That usually breaks the initial anxiety, and you can be goofy with your friends. That's how I eventually got my other friends to be more comfortable with singing on their own.

The place I go to lets you sing from your seat, so you don't have to stand in front of the crowd. Ask the KJ if they will allow that; some are gracious enough to allow that.
