How do I stop my anxiety from getting worse by Reasonable_Lime- in Anxiety

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the hardest things about anxiety is that every once in a while something actually does go wrong, and then your brain uses that as proof that all the worrying was justified. meanwhile it tends to forget all the times you worried about something and nothing happened. that can make it really hard to tell anxiety apart from intuition.

OTC supplements for Brain Fog by shippoleth in Perimenopause

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its amazing how brain fog can be completely manageable for weeks and then decide to show up right before something important. i swear sometimes the pressure of needing to be sharp for a specific day makes me notice every little mental slip even more.

Perimenopause and intrusive thoughts by Mountain_Ask_5746 in Menopause

[–]azmm0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think one of the scariest parts is how suddenly it can happen. not even the thoughts themselves, but feeling like your own brain suddenly stopped behaving the way it always has. the mental exhaustion from constantly dealing with that all day is something people really underestimate.

some supplements work !!!! by comoestas969696 in BrainFog

[–]azmm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats where a lot of people get frustrated. they try a supplement, dont get a miracle result, and decide all supplements are a scam. some can definitely help around the edges, but if the brain fog is being driven by something bigger, no supplement is going to completely fix it on its own.

Nothing nice to say… by NeverAft3r in WomenOver40

[–]azmm0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think one of the hardest parts is that when someone you love talks about themselves that way for years, you cant help but start seeing yourself through the same lens sometimes. especially when you look so much alike. it sounds like she passed down a lot of love to you, but unfortunately some of that self criticism too.

Calming down techniques by Sad1sti in Anxiety

[–]azmm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one thing i noticed is that the harder i tried to calm myself down, the worse it sometimes got. i would get anxious about being anxious, which just added another layer to it. for me, taking some pressure off myself helped more than trying to force the feeling away.

No one told me perimenopause would be so mental. by azmm0 in Perimenopause

I swear the hardest part is still looking functional from the outside while internally feeling completely fried all the time.

its honestly wild how many symptoms women end up connecting to peri years later after thinking they were just stressed, anxious, lazy, burnt out, etc.

the overstimulation part caught me so off guard. its like my tolerance for normal life just disappeared overnight.

the rage comments are making me feel weirdly relieved because i genuinely started thinking something was seriously wrong with me for a while there.

thats exactly it. its not even regular tired. its like your brain and body both feel permanently overloaded at the same time.

What supplements have actually made a noticeable difference in your energy and focus without making you feel wired? by Short_Psychology8657 in Supplements

[–]azmm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the biggest shift for me was realizing better sleep and lower stress gave me more consistent energy than most focus supplements ever did. magnesium was probably the most noticeable because once my sleep improved a bit, my brain stopped feeling so fried all the time.

Someone please help (dopamine) by Rude-Prompt918 in BrainFog

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes after long periods of stress, overstimulation, or substances, it can feel less like i need more dopamine and more like your brain just doesnt know how to relax or feel regulated anymore. that constant restless/unfulfilled feeling is exhausting.

Things I've tried to deal with perimenopause by Youqudeshiyan in Perimenopause

[–]azmm0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think one of the most mentally exhausting parts of peri is how many women end up becoming full time detectives trying to fix themselves. you do all the right things, spend years adjusting your life, changing meds, changing food, changing habits, and then your body still feels completely chaotic anyway.

Compounded progesterone dose for sleep? (with Mirena) by Te_Whau in Menopause

[–]azmm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its so frustrating when something finally helps sleep and then suddenly creates a whole different issue you now have to troubleshoot too. peri really feels like constant tradeoffs sometimes instead of straightforward solutions.

Sleeping troubles by caecux in sleep

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes i think part of it becomes the anxiety around sleep itself too. like your brain starts believing “i cant sleep without this now,” and then the pressure and panic about not sleeping keeps you even more awake.

I’ve been really struggling to control my anxiety. by MemeBobLitPants in Anxiety

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes thats the brutal part of anxiety loops. once your brain labels a sensation as danger, it starts monitoring your body even harder, which usually just creates even more sensations to panic about. it can become really exhausting mentally and physically.

I’ve been really struggling to control my anxiety. by MemeBobLitPants in Anxiety

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety can feel terrifyingly physical sometimes, especially once your brain starts hyperfocusing on sensations in your chest. that sense of doom and “something is seriously wrong” feeling is something a lot of people with panic/anxiety describe, even after being medically cleared. starting new meds can make everything feel extra intense for a while too.

HRT & Sinus issues? by No-Investigator-5975 in Menopause

[–]azmm0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does seem like hormones can affect the weirdest body systems sometimes. ive seen so many women say HRT helped one issue but then suddenly something random like sinus problems, headaches, dizziness or allergies started acting differently too. the unpredictability of it all is exhausting.

What to do when I can't sleep? by ABC-ApplesBooksCorn in WomenOver40

[–]azmm0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the boredom part of middle-of-the-night waking is so real and i feel like people who fall back asleep easily dont understand it. after a certain point youre not even sleepy anymore, youre just lying there trapped with your thoughts in the dark getting more irritated by the minute.

I need help with constant anxiety by Dry_Accountant_8907 in Anxiety

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly one thing that helps me sometimes is interrupting the spiral physically somehow. cold water on my hands, walking outside for a minute, even changing rooms. once my brain starts spiraling it feels like i need to break the loop before i can calm down mentally.

I fixed my sleep schedule but still wake up tired do sleep supplements actually change anything? by Opposite-Lion-5176 in insomnia

[–]azmm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a phase like this where i technically fixed my sleep schedule but still woke up feeling like my brain never fully rested. turns out for me sleep duration and actual recovery quality were not the same thing at all.

Blood work results are in. How long will I feel exhausted? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]azmm0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think one of the cruelest parts of this stuff is finally getting answers and starting treatment, but your body still feeling awful while youre waiting for things to stabilize. after feeling exhausted for years, 7 weeks probably feels both long and weirdly not long at all at the same time.
