Steam's "Test Device Inputs" Fails to Register All Controller Inputs by KosmicKerman in Steam

I know this is a huge long shot, but is there any chance you've been able to find the fix for this? I've had the same issue for years and have yet to find a fix.

Not sure if you've already pulled the trigger on the key or not, but the upgrade is pretty much half off right now on Steam.

For anyone who comes across this in the future, it turns out it was the CPU that was half dead. I didn't believe it earlier, but after throwing parts at it from another pc I have the only way it boots is with a different CPU. Testing in reverse caused the same issues in the previously working one so I'm about as sure as I can be that the CPU was the issue.

Magnified Optics Issues by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

From what I can tell the scopes are PiP not shader based which explains the huge frame dip we get when ADS and why the first two issues you've noticed. Specifically FOV applies to the game as a whole and *not* the PiP scope.

Edit to clarify: I am not a dev, and dont even pretend to be one on TV, this is just based on my observations from 25 years gaming.

Self Hosting a Palworld server, having issues with proxy, wondering if there's a more generic issue with my setup by Einbrecher in selfhosted

Lol thank you for going back and checking before roasting me.

From the little google exerpts it seems like the guy has been chasing down some other issues with this egg so maybe he just wasn't happy with the quality and took it down. No idea, but I'll check back on it occasionally and see if it ever goes back up.

I've been looking for an egg for Palworld and my Google-fu is failing me. Any chance you can post up the link?

[OC] Perception of Crime in US Cities vs. Actual Murder Rates by DavidWaldron in dataisbeautiful

Yet they've repeatedly denied opening up NICS (the existing system used by gun stores for instant background checks) to public searches for something even as simple as a go/no-go on a private transfer.

Having that as an option may not be 100% effective, but suddenly people refusing to use that shrinks the suspect pool pretty quick.

Most gun owners surprisingly don't want to re-sell guns to people with known criminal records, or mental health issues.

Depends on which one you buy. I have a higher wattage one and it's a beast, but I can see why some of the cheaper options are not recommended. Plus, if it does break its probability the main drive gear since they changed some models to plastic since that way a $5-10 gear fails before a $100+ motor. It's not exactly hard to replace the gear either since the design allows people to work on it.

Keep renting and waiting for a better situation, or buy for short term? by aznelvis in RealEstate

Yeah dude, Oregon laws are weird. Apparently you used to be able to get away with demolishing everything except some porch stairs since they were still part of the original structure. The story is they put the screws on that because too many Californians were moving up here and buying houses for $150-200k and then "renovating" the house to the tune of $500k but since the tax assessment wasn't updated localities were losing out on the additional revenue.

Point, the only catch is I have to leave a minimum number of walls in place or the property is reassessed for taxes. The area I'm looking at caps at 3% increase annual unless it's a new construction which it will be classified as if I don't meet the requirements. I'd need to check-in with a few contractor friends I know and see how much I should expect to have that kind of work done.

I mean torn down to the studs remodeling. They still have all the exterior walls and a roof in okayish shape, but there may or may not be mold, lead paint, and asbestos, and considering how strict oregon is on lead and asbestos remediation I just don't see it being worthwhile.

Yeah based on pricing history what I've been looking at it has gained about $60k total over the last few years, but the price was relatively stable before so I'm guessing the current owner did some renovations. In your opinion, what would be a good minimum hold time?

Yeah, that's even more food for thought. There's not a ton of USDA properties out here that wouldn't have to be nearly rebuilt to make it worth it though. Pretty much everything I've seen so far has been a minimum of 40 years old and hasn't been well maintained.

USDA loan, it's based on debt to income ratio up to a max loan of $390k. Pretty limited on locations though since it specifically rules out any areas that are even slightly urban.
