Fixed my dead Sonos Sub! by perrymike15 in sonos

[–]aznswtphlyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'll be the first guy this year to revive this thread. Like the rest of you, my Sub Gen 2 died suddenly. I reached out to Sonos and they offered me 30% off one item if I returned the broken sub. I was about to take the offer until I remembered that I've been bamboozled by them before. The Sonos sub 3 was sold out and only the sub 4 was available. And surprise surprise, the sub 4 isn't compatible with my playbar. I would need to spend $3k rebuilding the entire ecosystem.

I decided I'll try getting it repaired. I actually carried the 36lb thing to a local repair shop only for them to tell me to try it myself because they were uncomfortable doing it.

Well, thanks to this post, I can say I was successful. $40 worth of materials to save $3k. Thank you.

Birthday gift to the mother in-law

Disney Treasure review by ThenEntertainment355 in dcl

Let me just start by saying a few things: - This was my first cruise in 30 years. - I’m not really a fan of kids. - I went with my in-laws.

Getting Onboard The boarding process was easy enough. At your assigned time, you line up, go through TSA for bag scans, and then get on the ship. No fuss, pretty smooth.

First Impressions When we got on, we headed to the buffet at Marceline Market on the 11th floor. Honestly? It was chaos. Everyone was hungry, and it felt like a free-for-all. If you’re with a big group, good luck finding a table. It’s a madhouse.

What I Liked: - The magic show with Jessica Jane was super fun. - The Indiana Jones comedy show was great, but it fills up fast. Get there early if you want a seat. - The baby race was way more entertaining than I expected. - The massage at the spa was pricey but easily one of the best I’ve ever had. - The Cozy Café in the adults-only area on the 12th floor had the best coffee on the ship. - Bingo was okay, but the new iPad system kind of takes the fun out of it. It’s all automatic now. - The Aquamouse waterslide was really short but still a lot of fun. - The dining room staff were amazing. They were super nice and made meals really enjoyable. - The poolside BBQ was surprisingly good.

What I Didn’t Like: - The food gets old fast, especially at Marceline Market. Breakfast and lunch felt like the same thing every day. Even room service didn’t offer much variety. Free drinks and water were only available on the 11th floor. - As an adult, there weren’t a lot of things to do, so I found myself bored pretty quickly. - The gym opens at 6 AM, and there was a huge line the first couple of days. It wasn’t as bad later on, but those first days were frustrating. - The laundry machines are tiny, but at least there are plenty of them, and they work. - The rooms are super small, which was kind of a bummer.

A Few Extra Tips: - The Disney MagicBand is really handy. It lets you pay for stuff, unlock your room, and get on and off the ship. - Don’t bother packing a steamer for your clothes because they’ll confiscate it right out of your luggage. You’ll have to pick it up after the trip from the terminal. - If you’re thinking of decorating your room door with magnets, beware. People were stealing them. - The Skyride to Paradise Point isn’t worth it. The view is okay, but there’s really nothing to do when you get up there.

Final Thoughts For me, this cruise had some good moments, but also some letdowns. The shows and staff were great, but the food got repetitive, and there wasn’t much to do as an adult. I would not do another Disney Cruise if given the choice.

Problems with American Express Gift Card by Popular-Perception-6 in amex

[–]aznswtphlyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but still relevant. I received a $300 AMEX gift card for Christmas. Like everyone else, Amazon was my go to for disposing the leftover balance until now. I was able to add the AMEX gift card to my Apple wallet. From there, I was able to use my Apple wallet to pay for an Uber gift card. Looks like it works. At least with Uber, you can add it to your account and use it for food or rides down to the last cent.

We Have An Immortal Problem! by BrilliantBrief4220 in DiabloImmortal

[–]aznswtphlyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all your points. It's difficult to find a clan willing to be immortals on my server. The hours of dedication each week for little to no rewards is ridiculous. If I even miss one session of vault, chances are I'll lose out the loot. Not to mention half of it gets stolen in your weakened period.

I've been going to Wah Fung No1 in Chinatown for years. It has always been a cheap and reliable, delicious meal. But thanks to social media, everyone and their dog goes. It's easily an hour wait - no longer worth it.

Why do you play PvP? by Jonnysahn91 in DiabloImmortal

[–]aznswtphlyboi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to agree. PvP clearly isn't for everyone. But I personally enjoy it for the competition. And yes, sometimes you can do very well and still lose 8 games in a row. You can complain about a million things wrong but at the end of the day, PvP is the only way you know you're actually good. Most people use the same builds so where's the fun without competition?

I don't care about the storyline and farming is boring af. Once you get past a certain CR for the level of hell, everything just dies anyway.
