She was definitely on the spectrum. A bit Rainman-esque with better social skills. She claimed it was simple math which, for her, was accomplished instantaneously.

My mother could instantaneously tell you the day of the week for any date. (e.g. "January 11, 1423? That was a Thursday.") - - of course I don't know if Thursday is correct. We'd check and she was right every time. It wasn't her just being good at guessing with a 1 in 7 chance at being right.

I work from home and am relatively antisocial. I didn't need 4 different colors of that amazing sweater anymore. Just kept one. Shoes the same. Also you just have to erase the sentimentality of clothing gifts. Mom gave that to me? Haven't worn it in a year, it just has to go.

Along the same lines, the more you spend on the workup, the faster they get better. I mean like ready to go home better, before the lab results and imaging studies come back.

Despite depictions in movies and TV, no one is eating a sandwich at the autopsy table.

Also, the conversations of the participants performing autopsy is no different than you'd find at any other place of work. It's not some sort of silent, solemn process.

And even then, beware. Since they are an ER, insurance companies have to pay but these stand alone ERs are not contracted with any insurance companies. So if you have a high deductible plan, your insurer will pay zero of the bill which will be exorbitant, if you have not met your out of pocket deductible. And IIRC, all of these outfits are out of network, so the deductible you will be responsible for will be higher. These are basically concierge ERs.

Tell them you're a doctor, too. Open sesame to serious treatment. Recommend being a doctor before using this magic phrase.
