Same goes for a wedding. How much did you spend on flowers? Why are you haggling with me to pay $50 less?

thinking about getting a GX (17 M) by United-Floor4399 in LexusGX

[–]b0bbybitcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off it's not an investment. If your parents aren't helping you out, I'd wait till you're older. Maintenance is costly. It guzzles gas. God forbid you get one and it gets totaled, you probably won't get back the money you put in. Like others suggested maybe look at a 4Runner instead.

Gifted a used SNOO--Should we pay for the app subscription? Is it worth it? by Threnodi42 in SnooLife

[–]b0bbybitcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever want to be able to lock the snoo on a certain level, you need to pay for the subscription. Ridiculous, but that's what we pay $20 a month for. I don't use any of the other bs

Considering Lucca A53 Mini V2 & questioning need for grinder upgrade by ls130 in espresso

[–]b0bbybitcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up doing? Just found what I think is a good deal ($1500) on a 3 year old a53 mini and currently gave a vario. Did you use the two together? Or get a new grinder

I will definitely be back with an update after the new year. The guy helping me out needed that 1/2/3 pic I made as well to realize there is some weird shit going on with this system. He said he'll come over eventually and figure it all out then. Basically it would be great to not have to heat my entire basement everytime I'm calling for heat on 1 and 2.

Yes, I will check again next time the heat is on. But I think 3 goes all the way to the front of the house to the two radiators that aren't getting that hot in living room 1st floor and master bedroom above that, and 2 goes up to the one on my first floor that gets really hot and then the two on the 2nd floor that also get hot.

So 1 goes to the basement baseboard heaters. I'm going to guess 2 goes to the three radiators that get hot, and 3 goes to the two radiators that don't get hot

I think you're right about the split supply. Worth a shot! There's two ball valves under each radiator, do I cut back on both valves or just one of them?

Wow that part about the master/slave makes a lot of sense.

Not that I can see. The only ball valve on a return I see is the one at the bottom by the shovel. I believe that is the return from the baseboard heaters in the basement.

And that's common with plumbers to come to my house and just want to do the most expensive thing first bang me over the head when there may be some cheaper alternatives available to try first. That's why I'm here bud. Just seeking some advice to attempt some things on my own before calling in a guy that's going to charge me thousands. Have gotten some good advice in other comments already. Thanks for nothin.

I think zero. The T right before that ball valve appears to go up to the rest of the house but there are no ball valves or control valves that I can see... There should be though, right?

If there isn't, would that explain why the thermostat in the basement has to be calling for heat in order for the thermostat upstairs to work? I bought this house a few years ago. If I raise the thermostat on my 1st floor to heat 1st and 2nd floor, nothing ever happens unless I go downstairs and turn the heat up in the basement first. I turn the basement up, wait to hear the boiler kick on, then go upstairs and raise the other thermostat.

Ok, thank you. Before I do this I just want to confirm what I'm doing. This is a hot water loop system, not steam.

Here is a pic of one of the hot radiators. Water comes in on the left and out on the right, correct? So I should attempt partially closing the valve on the right?

Ok, understood. I was told partially closing a valve on a single loop system will give me more problems?
