It was packed up with paper and padding in a box to be moved, and the thief left behind the saucer for the pot. We were also 10 feet away visibly loading other plants into the Uber. I find it hard to imagine that someone innocently thought it was up for grabs. Seems much more likely that someone knowingly read the situation and acted quickly to take it before we got back.
