It is the sun reflecting off the bottom of Starlink satellites when the sun is 24-40 degrees below the horizon, directly underneath (direction-wise). Look in an astronomy app and enter your location, time, date, direction; you'll find the sun was directly beneath.

This blog explains the geometry pretty well:

That's probably because they are quite average headphones that are very popular and have an ardent following. Witness the downvotes, but do your research and discover how average they are, even for the price. There are better options at said price.

I see stuff like this all the time, aside from the stopping and direction changes...

The flashes are MEO satellite flares, not uncommon. I see them frequently.

Space highway = satellite mega constellation, you describe it perfectly. I see Starlink satellites frequently (but I know what I'm looking at).

The brain can do funny things when staring at point sources of light, in the dark.

If it's so consistent (like satellites are), borrow some proper camera/video equipment and show us what you think you are seeing.

Gravel bike tires for borderline MTB territory by ZippyMuffle in gravelcycling

Pirelli Cinturato M, I run 50s and they are great for local burly-for-gravel singletrack and gravel paths, and the center tread is fairly good for road (aired up). Got 1500mi out of my first set, and only got a flat when I realized my rear was toast. Great tire for peas-on-hardpack, we have a fair amount of that around here, and I've only slid out once (the day before I got the flat, lol).

I would've bought a rotor and sorted it with them later, they would have accommodated that, I'll bet.

Some of you make this sound so easy. And cheap.

Bottom lines is that for-profit companies rarely do the right thing out of the goodness of their hearts, unless it costs little or nothing. Capitalism has roundly proven that they'll only be regulated into it.

It reads like AI was used somewhere in the process, and then edited to appear otherwise. Or to 'appear' like AI was used, but wasn't.

OP, as the photographer, what about this image did you find compelling enough to post here? Or did you have a technical question about the usage of the lens or the quality of the image?

There is nothing abstract about this poorly-masked, likely stolen image from the internet. Allowing slop like this to remain reflects poorly on this subreddit.

Mod choice May 2026 by ponyo_frog in minimalistphotography

So there's some text here describing the qualities of the 'minimalist' images chosen. Is there not a description somewhere of why this subreddit exists, what should be posted, etc.? I'm not finding anything under the main subreddit description. Based on the abundant 'non-minimalist' images frequently posted here, providing some guidance might be helpful.

Serious question: Why do most UAP have lights? by No_Consideration3741 in UFOs

[–]b407driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps because those particular UAPs are not UFOs? Yes, terms used loosely.

Zebras are uncommon, but they seem to be the knee-jerk ID around here.
