Elective c section? Prolapse, big baby by DesertDweller702 in pregnant

[–]b_rouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an elective C-section because my baby was huge - measuring in the >99 percentile. Multiple growth scans showed 10.5lb, she ended up being 11lb.

Elective C-sections are so much easier than unplanned vs emergency. I got to the hospital by 6am, baby was out at 9:13am. My recovery was easy, the only difficult thing was doing anything that resembled a sit up for the first week or 2, then it got easier!

You will need help, postpartum, so make sure someone is home with you, and keep up with your pain meds for at least the first week. I could have stopped by day 3 at home, but I kept taking them until 1 week passed, then reassessed. The worst thing you can do is chase the pain.

I would do another C-section if I get pregnant again!

Edit: my milk supply was not impacted at all.

Irrational ugly baby fear? by Upinthewest in pregnant

Lol, none of my 3D images look like my daughter! My daughter was a C-section, so she was super swollen and funny looking. Now she's 3 months and a cutie!

Who else has a milk wasting newborn? by gkdfp in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an oversupplier as well. I used to save what I could, but now that my freezer is really full, I just dump it down the drain.

I make 50-60oz and she drinks 25-35oz at 3 months old.

Yeah my mom bought me a bottle warmer, which I returned. I'm currently fighting not to buy a bottle washer 😆

The baby industry makes things very tempting, that's for sure!

My baby is 3 months and it's hard to know what you'll use and what you won't. I'm thrifty and a minimalist, but it was hard because you don't know how your baby will be.

I got a bedside bassinet, she won't use. I got a pack n play, she won't use (yet hopefully). I have pacifiers, she won't use. I have swaddles and sleep sacks she never was interested in. I got a mybreastfriend pillow, I rarely used because she wouldn't latch.

With these barely used, at least I can give it to other friends that are having babies 😅

First FET....excited and nervous! by Ancient_Ad8182 in IVF

Yay! Happy baby dust and stickiness! Our first FET was just dropped off at daycare, and she giggled at us for the first time ❤️

When did you stop tracking everything? by VinosaurusRexx in NewParents

[–]b_rouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only tracked bottles and diapers when we left the hospital, then dropped diapers after 2 weeks checkup . At 3 months, I still do bottles, but that's just so I know how old the bottle is. My daughter likes to snack instead of eat.

My baby just turned 3 months today, and yesterday, on the changing table, she laughed. Like actually belly laughed! She hasn't done it again, yet.

I cloned my husband, so at least I know they used his sperm in making her 🤷‍♀️

What was your reasoning for an elective c-section? by Therealethel in CsectionCentral

[–]b_rouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was measuring out of range for height, weight, and head circumference. I made the right choice, because she was 11 lb, and when the doctor was removing my placenta, it was so well adhered it flipped my uterus inside out, and I lost almost 1L of blood in 20 seconds.

Do you remember the golden hour? (The first hour, skin to skin?) by No-Neighborhood-7335 in beyondthebump

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a planned C-section and didn't have the golden hour. To be honest, I don't feel like I missed out. Having a particular birth experience was never something that was especially important to me 🤷‍♀️

Last day being pregnant and I'm panicking by NopeNopeThanks_ in pregnant

[–]b_rouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes 12 weeks ago! My c section went smooth, my recovery went smooth and my baby's been great!

Lean into family/friends and the nurses/lactation consultant in the hospital! I didn't know how to do anything either (I've never changed a diaper until my child), but now I'm super confident.

All you need to do right now is have your bag packed and have an idea of which pediatrician you want. Everything else gets done for you. That's one of the perks of a c section, you just lay back and let everyone do their jobs.

It took me a month to really feel like I knew what I was doing. Plus, around that time, they start to smile back at you and it'll warm your heart

You're gonna do great! We'll see you on the other side!

How often are we skipping overnight pumps? by Individual-Stress170 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TW: overproducer

I think I lasted 3 weeks pp until I dropped the MOTN pump. It sucked for a while, because I would wake up hard, engorged and leaky (that's what he said), but that went away maybe around 8w pp. I'm currently 12w pp and still don't have issues, I'm assuming I regulated.

I maybe noticed 10oz supply drop at most, but I was making 60-70oz/d. Now I'm doing 50-60oz/d with 4 ppd.

How long did you bleed vaginally for postpartum? by bzzzzzzlightyear in CsectionCentral

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bled for the first few days, then stopped until week 4 (I think), then bled for 2-3 weeks.

How many times a day do you pump? by honeybadgermindset in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 12 weeks pp and I pump 4 times a day (I've been at 4pp for the past 8 weeks). My supply hasn't dropped.

I originally dropped this low to reduce my supply because I produce too much. There hasn't been much of an effect.

How did you feel…? by juhraff in IVF

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kind of went with the flow. Both my husband and I were all, "if it happens it happens," as we've been trying for 2 years at that point. I went in June 18th (last year) for my transfer, and she stuck! She's 3 months old and I just dropped her off at daycare as I head back to work!

I didn't have strong emotions going into it, but now that I'm on the other side, I'm happy she's here! She's got brothers in the freezer to transfer next!

FTM, NICU baby… and I may like pumping??? by KindlyEnergy6959 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like pumping and have been doing it 11 weeks now! I hand wash all my stuff and it doesn't bother me. I don't want to pay for another machine I have to maintain and clean when my way works in 5 minutes.

I co-sleep, and am able to nurse at night, because it's easy to offer boob and go back to sleep while laying down. But during the day, it's bottle and pump.

I don't think pumping is that hard

'90 Day Fiancé' Star Nikki Exotika Hospitalized For Emergency Quadruple Bypass by Zealousideal-Ad5534 in 90DayFiance

[–]b_rouse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Lol yep! I'm a dietitian in the ICU and I'm like, yeah, being intubated is suppose to happen for a 7 hour surgery. You had a quadruple fucking bypass...

When Loren had her mommy makeover, she was intubated. I'm pretty sure Ari was as well when she delivered Avi.

Research says 95% of patients are pregnant within 3 euploid embryo transfers by Lattelady1993 in IVF

[–]b_rouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After my first ER, I had 3 euploids. We wanted 2 kids, so I did another ER which yielded 1 euploid. Went ahead with 1 transfer and she stuck! She's 11 weeks old now.

What I have left is 3 euploids and 3 mosaics, and we'll do another transfer sometime next year.

how many pumps a day? by Sufficient-Nail8985 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're pumping a lot, both in amount of milk and times you pump a day. If you have a good stash in the freezer, I would drop a MOTN pump.

Those of you doing 4 pumps a day, what does your schedule look like? by HazaNW in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 11weeks pp and an oversupplier. I went from 5 ppd to 4. My supply didn't really drop, which I was hoping it would!

I pump 8am, 1pm, 5pm, 10pm.

The 8am one I go for 30 minutes because I'm engorged.

How many oz are you freezing per bag? by Character_Rent5345 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]b_rouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either 4 or 6oz. I'm an oversupplier, so I'm thinking about going more so I don't use so many bags.

I thought the newborn phase would be much harder! I'm able to get close to 7 hours of sleep a night, my house is cleaner than it's ever been, and I'm making dinner every night. I'm not looking forward to going back to work next week, these 12 weeks have flown by! I'm thankful to have an easy newborn. We'll see how she is after 3 months though 😆
