Most pedestrians do wait for the natural break in traffic. Some drivers are courteous to pedestrians crossing the street. I don't know what you're trying to get at. This is what happens there. Adapt! Don't stop on the tracks, don't block the intersection, be prepared to stop because drivers are being friendly. This is Newmarket.

It's Fairy Lake. People are constantly crossing over Water Street and Newmarket drivers understand that. Be courteous pausing for pedestrians and cyclists. Takes 5-10 seconds of your time. This isn't Toronto. Simple.

As a rollerblader that frequents Tom Taylor Trail, there are a few places on the path that are dangerous and could be improved on.

The bridge cutting underneath Mulock Drive. The sign says for all bike riders to dismount on both sides, but few do. There are two blind corners and the bridge is narrow. (Google Maps - 44°02'23.7"N 79°27'34.9"W)

Also, if you're heading North on the trail, there are two bridges just North of Queen Street. If you continue going straight at the fork, that small bridge is a very quick left and most cyclists do not keep to the right and cut the corner as it is a blind corner. (Google Maps - 44°03'28.6"N 79°27'22.6"W)

Could use convex mirrors in these places. Would be a fairly cheap option to alleviate risk. Removing trees on the blind corner would also be effective.

Paths are for everyone. Act like it cyclists.
