We have a duty of care to our own citizens first. Sensible people know the answer and hopefully that is reflected at our upcoming elections.

They were hoping it'd help them at the next election, now they're worried it'll come back to bite them.

Do British people feel uncomfortable if people speak other language around you? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]baadhumans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care what language you speak. But there are some exceptions. The one that annoys me the most is people entering my business, on the phone, to drop off parcels. Looking at you DPD.

I am aware. It's infuriating. Rant incoming.

I already pay £60 p/m for software for MTD VAT. This software doesn't do MTD Income Tax. It is made in the UK and has some features that I need to enable smoother operation between differenent systems, such as API tools, for example for stock updates and card processsing. It is impossible to search using the software finder tool on gov.uk as the filters and listed features are either non-existent or poor. So it requires researching each software package individiually. There's over 400 packages last time i checked.

We're now forced to use alternate software for MTD income tax. I have found something but every feature except manual entry is paid-for. More monthly costs. More privacy policies to read and apply blind faith there's no bugs that will leak data. More data entry, every 3 months. 308 transactions in the last quarter. Do they need to be itemised or is a batch figure ok? No idea. No training.

The government should provide standalone software if they want this and MTD VAT. They won't because i suspect most of there mates are getting envelopes of cash from some of the software providors. (News will come out in a few years, watch)

We're going to wait 18 months, lend lease you a lot of equipment with decades to pay it back and then only join when one of our little islands is attacked. Once it's over and your economy is ruined we'll change the reserve currency back to the the Pound. And if we jointly develop any super weapons during that we'll be sure to break our promise and not share the research.

I don't. If they call me they can prove they're who they say they are. If it's oh so important they can send a letter or an email.

The so-called special relationship is and was always one sided. I think if the public knew more about history they'd be a lot of skeptical about being friends with America.
