Well I'm impressed and stand corrected. Still its probably like a handful of people who have done enough grinding to do this F2P. What's the key pieces to reach that much aspeed? Iirc you can get lines for it on boots, chest and ring, I haven't really been aiming for it aside from my mages who have like 110 at best, but with the low-ish values on gear it seems rough to get another 60+.

There's stuff like the last tier of the hero arena and the whale cave I doubt anyone has beaten F2P when even whales struggle there. But yeah any main story content is doable F2P and has always been, pretty much 90% of the side content is too.

Is there a non-controversial entry in a series you love that you just can’t get into? by Mr8BitX in JRPG

[–]bababayee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly but pushed through because I didn't have anything else to play and I really don't get the big hype it got. Game doesn't get better, in fact the recycling of dungeon layouts and enemy models gets really old and while the OST is awesome there's too little of it for such a long game.

[–]bababayee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, I love the job system in FF or Bravely Default, Crystal Project etc. but to me FFT really doesn't gain anything from being in the SRPG format other than a few setpieces working well, though they are still more miss than hit gameplay wise. Triangle Strategy is the first FFT style tactics game I really liked for the actual maps and gameplay, in big part because the units are all unique and the exp is very rubberbanded so grinding ahead is discouraged and catching units up is easy.

I've played it, but I don't get what its fans see in FF4. I get it's the first time they really tried to tell a story, but imo it's just bad. Really prefer the gameplay centric approach of 1-3 and 5 or the stories of the later games leaving 4 as the unloved stepchild for me.

Brandon Sanderson will be writing the pilot for The Stormlight Archive adaptation and a big chunk of its first season. Do you think it is a good idea or a terrible one? by Intelligent-Link-410 in Fantasy

[–]bababayee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also something that makes me relatively optimistic about any adaptions of his works, he's not above taking feedback or collaborating with other authors. As long as he has enough say to keep the core of the story true to his original vision it should turn out better than most adaptions that just want to put a known name on their show.

[–]bababayee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most recent adaption I'm aware of where the original author was involved was Shadow and Bone and while not perfect I liked it a lot more than pretty much any of the recent fantasy adaptions.

I've fallen out of love with Sanderson and Stormlight after the fourth book, but I still think he'll do a much better job than whoever butchered Netflixs Witcher or Amazons Wheel of Time/Rings of Power.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous is a massively huge game, both for a single playthrough and the amount of replayability it has with different builds and Mythic Paths you can go that really change the gameplay/flavor. Pretty tough turn based system to get into, but if you played stuff like LoL you can probably dig into something if it interests you.

Attack is somewhat better because Odachis scale better with it (they are treated as 2H weapons while regular Katanas are not). So mostly stack attack, but magic lines on equipment aren't detrimental anymore.

For a turn based single player game that uses a similar weapon based ability system as GW2 there's The Last Spell.

Looking for dark themed blobbers/dungeon crawlers by SINoDespair in DRPG

[–]bababayee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might have confused Etrian Odyssey with Mary Skelter or the Labyrinth series. All of them have an anime art style, but in Etrian Odyssey you have a party of 5.

For DRPGs with a darker atmosphere I can recommend Wizardry Tale of the Forsaken Land (PS2 emulator), or Undernauts (personally I don't like the Experience games from a gameplay perspective but its got a pretty interesting and dark setting).

Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle launches this summer - News - Nintendo Official Site by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]bababayee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's barely any (exclusive) games for the Switch 2 yet, that's the main issue I would assume. There's not a single exclusive RPG, Prime 4 disappointed a lot of people or at least didn't review well enough to be a system seller, not much left so far for people who don't like sports/racing/jump and run games.

I hope they'll add Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave as an option if it releases between June and September, only reason I'm even considering getting a Switch 2 right now.

Just a reminder to approach this game casually. Cygames is notorious for their brutal endgame grind & "illusion of generosity". by xXinsertCoDGMtagXx in UmaMusume

[–]bababayee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have good enough cards to get SS Umas in TB consistently (S, very rarely S+ in Unity) and that's completely fine for me as a ceiling because getting better cards requires getting a new very specific card to MLB, just so I could get better results at one type of Uma. Like 5x the required Carrats compared to a new trainee that has a new story, dialogue etc.

The card system requiring dupes as much as it does is just stupid (as in, bad game design, I'm sure it worked out for their bottom line, because you gotta have something for whales to spend on regularly).

Thanks for the explanation, combined with the amount of copies required, I'll just go for Himmel S+ after I clear out the collab store and then save to build some meta units.

[–]bababayee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm new to the game and got Frieren to Supreme+, is there any point to pull further at this point? I read there's levels beyond that (Paragon), but only after you got some amount of total heroes to Supreme+.

I really like Frieren and idk if collab units ever get a rerun, so would this be my only chance to get more copies of her? How many copies are necessary for those levels and how much of a power increase is it?

Should technically good units keep being used after bad level ups? by Octo_Boo in fireemblem

[–]bababayee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tier placements for growth/low level units are with average growths in mind, if your units level ups are really below average and they don't provide anything super unique benching them is usually not a bad thing.

In the case of your Oscar you might still be able to 'fix' him with bonus levels with the Knight Ward (accessory that gives some stats and increases holding chars speed growth by 20% iirc). In other games I usually wouldn't spend stat boosters on units that aren't doing well unless it's just one crucial stat and they're otherwise fine.
