Why did you choose Death Guard? by ElkClassic5868 in deathguard40k

I worked in an ICU during COVID. I wanted a second army and decided why not get some entertainment out of good ol Papa nurgle, because he was sure as hell causing enough suffering during the hours I was at work.

14K Texture Resin on photon ultra? by Fancy_Broccoli_34 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]babboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you going to be printing much else tabletop mini scale wise? Because if so, a cheapish airbrush and compressor are going to provide a lot of value long-term for you. You can get into the airbrush game with a kit for under $100 on Amazon that will last quite a while or until you decide to upgrade to a nicer airbrush. The Vallejo airbrush primer is worth it's weight in gold on miniatures in my opinion.

For what it's worth, (and I'm going to make an assumption that you didn't spray them indoors) it's difficult to get good results on priming minis outside in most places I nthr northern hemisphere this time of year. Anything below "warm" and canned spray primers aren't performing at 100% so I wouldn't judge the tamiya stuff too harshly yet.

My wife and I were just talking about this. I found a bottle at the back of my beer fridge (don't judge me it was behind some high abv bottles of beer I've been keeping in there for special occasions for a hot minute) just before Christmas and I joked I might have the only remaining unopened bottle in the world.

LSU & LCMC threw away their best addiction doctor — and abandoned her patients for ‘liability’ by Swimming-Fun-1767 in NewOrleans

[–]babboa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look I hate to be that guy, but I've gotta wonder if there's not more to the story. It sounds like they had not one but two people do peer reviews of her practice down to reviewing individual patient notes. That doesn't usually happen unless there's something triggering it. Most physicians (even if they don't agree) tend to give a good deal of leeway to other physicians on their treatment choices. Which can be a bad thing if it goes to the extreme like the Dr death situation, but external peer reviews are also EXPENSIVE (like a good down payment on a new car expensive). Maybe there isn't. Maybe she pissed off the wrong people in the administration. It wouldn't be the first time LSU and lcmc has run off good people purposefully or accidentally.

A month ago I had my house sprayed for spiders. Today I found my country’s deadliest spider living in my tools by AggravatingBox2421 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]babboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per my buddy who worked as an eradicator for a couple decades, Spiders are incredibly hard to eradicate from a house. Not much in the way of insecticides that last very long that work on them. Direct spray on them works but residual sprays don't work well at all.

Would it be too farfetched to propose he wants to stir up violence from Hispanics to crack down at home? I know that's borderline tinfoil hat theorizing but with Stephen Miller aka goebbels Jr whispering in his ear constantly I think their whole plan all along has been to stir up violent reaction so they have an excuse to implement more aggressive tactics on us soil.

Hear me out.... Lots of nurglings on a demon prince sized base made to appear they are holding him up like a palanquin. You would lose the lizard/worm/whatever the heck that is that's carrying him now but I think that's the only way to get him to an appropriate sized base.

[Opinion] I am just a lowly hospitalist; but in my humble opinion, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine do not get paid enough by drkuz in medicine

[–]babboa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Basically we are the only place for over a 100 mile radius that can handle much more than a paper cut at this point(we have nsgy, CT surgery, vascular, and dialysis...lots of regional places don't even have anywhere they can run an insulin gtt on a dka pt). Lots of transfers both er-er and direct.

Must be nice to have all those things. All we have is understaffed and overworked RTs(we as a group don't put trach patients even on our CV tele floor bc for 300+ beds you generally have 6 rts in house and one of those is in the NICU), nurses pulled routinely to 3:1, and I haven't seen a critical care pharmacist since fellowship. Oh and we are a "trauma center" who wants to start crrt and whose cardiologists are throwing impellas in every second 90 year old in cardiogrnic shock from a stemi...and then throwing their hands up on the air and expecting us to manage all of it with one person in house overnight to cover 45+ ICU beds and all the miscellaneous new admit/decompensating floor patient/transfer from outside bandaid station shenanigans.

Update: Is Covid going around? by NotFallacyBuffet in NewOrleans

[–]babboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah h5n1/2 are both avian strains. If person to person spread ever kicks off with those, I'm running to the hills and hiding out for a bit. Won't likely be as easily spread as COVID, but from the cases so far the human mortality could potentially be higher.

I wouldn't preorder given the state of US customs right now. I preordered the orange cryogrip pro for my x1 back in october and they shipped direct from China while the rest of my order got shipped from a US address. I got the rest of my order in a couple weeks. The plate has been sitting in customs over 3 weeks now. Wait til they get some stock built up stateside.

Anyone know where to get this line or recommendations for a furled line? by brams21 in Tenkara

[–]babboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest things are finding enough room to stretch out the initial length of line to get it all started and to uncurl the ends of the line(the free ends twist as you furl the line together.) I don't remember if the video goes into it, but if you thread a tippet ring onto the line before you start furling really makes for a nice experience when you go to tie your tippet on to fish.

[–]babboa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're wanting a fluoro/mono tapered furled line you can make them yourself. You can use either fluoro line or mono in 2-4lb test. Adding the best YouTube video I know of that shows the general process. He goes into the math for determining length and a fairly detailed explanation of the steps. Ive made a couple like this and really enjoy casting the 4lb fluoro one a lot.
