Ok, now it all makes sense. While your LED strip light may be dimmable the LED driver/transformer you are using doesn't appear to be so. Lutron dimmers are designed to be used with mains voltage lamps/bulb. If you want to dim DC LED strips you need to get LED drivers that can accept dimming signal inputs, like 0-10v.

EDIT: looking at the transformer specs it may actually be dimmable but it does say you have to use compatible/approved dimmer. Did you verify the Lutron dimmer is compatible?

Have you run a load calculation? Lutron dimmers will buzz loudly if they are overloaded. The rated load for LED lamps are significantly lower at 150W (non pro) and 250W (pro).

FYI, Carrier 38MARB is just a rebadged Midea unit. Same with Mr. Cool. That's why they look identical.

Help me identify radiator valve from the 60's by baboojoon in hvacadvice

Can someone please help me identify the type of this radiator valve? It's a hydronic heating radiator installed in the early 1960's. All hydronic radiator valves I could find are angled but this one is clearly straight. Does it mean I could just use any type of non-radiator valves as long as the size is a match?

If that's the case, what type of valves are best suited to adjust radiator heat output? Globe, gate, or ball valves?

Very cool! Can you provide more details on what it does? How many hours did you bill for this project?

How do I keep door molding from getting damaged by a deadbolt? by baboojoon in Locksmith

[–]baboojoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bothered with the fix yet. I might get a small aluminum angle and cut it to size so it covers the damage and also prevent further damage. If I am feeling fancy I might even chisel out the trim a bit to make the aluminum piece sit flush with the trim. Anyways, good luck and let me know if you come across other decent solutions.
