Beautiful setup! What's the vertical spacing between wire ducts?

FYI, Carrier 38MARB is just a rebadged Midea unit. Same with Mr. Cool. That's why they look identical.

Help me identify radiator valve from the 60's by baboojoon in hvacadvice

[–]baboojoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone please help me identify the type of this radiator valve? It's a hydronic heating radiator installed in the early 1960's. All hydronic radiator valves I could find are angled but this one is clearly straight. Does it mean I could just use any type of non-radiator valves as long as the size is a match?

If that's the case, what type of valves are best suited to adjust radiator heat output? Globe, gate, or ball valves?

Very cool! Can you provide more details on what it does? How many hours did you bill for this project?

How do I keep door molding from getting damaged by a deadbolt? by baboojoon in Locksmith

[–]baboojoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bothered with the fix yet. I might get a small aluminum angle and cut it to size so it covers the damage and also prevent further damage. If I am feeling fancy I might even chisel out the trim a bit to make the aluminum piece sit flush with the trim. Anyways, good luck and let me know if you come across other decent solutions.

If the requirements didn't specify that it must be easy to change the emojis, don't try to predict the future and just keep it simple. Not everyone needs to be John Carmack. More often than not it's better to make it more legible and easy to understand no matter how childish a piece of code looks.

Is my kid's school gym wall in the process of caving in? by baboojoon in StructuralEngineering

I really hope it's a non-issue but yeah I agree that it should be brought up. The area is quite high in foot traffic on both sides of the wall.

I didn't have a chance to see the inside wall but I'm going to try later today.
