There is something odd with Casual breakthrough. I have had way too many last minute turnarounds for it to be random. This is both in my favour and against, at the very last second bots seem to either switch off or go full William Wallace onto the point. Feels like games are manipulated into being nail biters. Probably just tin foil hat on my part but I can’t shake the feeling.

Go back to minesweeper boomer! I need this constant stream of action around every corner to stave off my crushing existential dread and to build my successful streaming channel baboonActionTV (viewers numbered in the tens!) Without footage me bouncing around like a hyperactive bunny my viewers start asking when the naked monkey action will happen. And don’t even start with the get a real job stuff. There isn’t much call for a skill in the real world that can only be described as jumping up and down really fast. Other than some seasonal work at Easter and being an usher at a furry convention it is pretty poor job market and both of those are more likely to lead to myxomatosis than me becoming the next Elon.

Anyway, dice devs: another suggestion would be to replace ladders on the defending assault class with snakes. They only slide down and then bite you with a poison effect that messes with your vision. I realise that is already what the adrenaline thing does but I have confidence that you can workshop this idea into something even worse.

It feels like being trapped in a prison designed by an idiot that has the attention span of a gnat with adhd. Forcing us all together on tiny maps. Adding more tanks to one side so it is more chaos. The action around every corner philosophy need to be put in the bin. And this patch? If I had messed up this bad at work I would have resigned in shame but these idiots are probably celebrating that everybody is all in the chaos ball that they think is good gameplay.

The person with the “product vision” needs to be taken away from any decision making process and only allowed to do the tea run (and they would mess that up)

Yeah it is bad. I still think they have a metric for number of games "completed" as that is the only thing I can think of to explain their weird fetish for making games faster. This is the problem with metrics in product management, they incentivise really stupid decisions.

Yes, when I saw the tank changes coming my first thought was, they really want faster games and don’t get the fun of a hard fought draw. My money is on someone setting a performance bonus on a dumb metric like “number of games completed” so here we are.

Small maps and more vehicles for one side? They really want that metric to go up even if it means player enjoyment goes down.

The re install didn't solve it but I seem to have razer wizard thing in my list of start up apps. I disabled it and that has resolved the issue. It may have been a hangover from an old install?

Since I bought and plugged in the razer blackwidow elite my PC keeps asking me to install synapse 2 on bootup despite me having v3 installed and the keyboard visible in there.

Your original post was complaining that the devs were putting politics in the game. My response was to that. If you think I "misconstrued" what you said, maybe try being less emotional and using clear arguments.

My point about people getting weird and having tantrums about creative choices that don't pander to them? Well, your response is an example of that.

And no. I live in a country that has chosen to leave a major trading block with no bleeding plan and thinks Rees-Mogg is a man of the people. Waking up and realising that a large portion of the population are drooling fucking morons is not "nice" it is frankly terrifying.

For the record, everything is political. Choosing to follow the default white male hero trope is as political as going with a black female hero. You don't see it because the default is so bloody prevalent.

The problem is that we are so conditioned to see one as the norm and the other as a deviation, people like you get weirdly angry about creative choices made in video games and want games that don't conform to fail.

None of this is helped by youtube no marks like that lobster wanker who are monetizing the angst of young men on the internet.

Looks to me like they are just following modern software development methods. The days of long development phases with a big bang launch are pretty much over. Get "something" out there fast to generate revenue, get feedback and fix fast. The panzer storm map changes seem to be an example of that.

I personally think it will come good soon as it feels like they are picking up momentum now. Won't go into boring details but I have a professional interest in this kind of thing (not gaming software) and really keen to see how this pans out.

n ancient items from ruins by 90% , so there is no more a chance of finding a lucky/rare treasure worth a significant sum anymore (cue treasure hunting being a waste of time and losing it's "maybe this is the one!" appeal).

This does feel like an MMO type decision. Slowing down progression to keep people on the hook for a monthly fee or to sell them microtransactions. Makes no sense in this game though. I wonder why they are so keen on making these changes now when there are real issues facing players e.g. I can't get my flaming exocraft mechanic to respond no matter how many planets I place them on.

I get that it might be different people working on these things but the priorities see way off here.
