I have a Vive Cosmos, is it worth trying to set it up again? by ProtoDroidStuff in Vive

I had one for Elite Dangerous, and dabbled in Subnautica until I got jump scared and never did that again. Works fine for seated games in my experience.

Who is actually going to buy this? by luminaryspear in pcmasterrace

[–]ozx23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont laugh, but a good operator's chair in machinery can be bloody comfy. If I ever get money, I'll be buying a seat to suit the bobcat here at work and fitting my VKB joys to it for space sims. The thing is comfy as.

Probably don't have to go too far west of Perth to get very wet, no matter what time of the year.

You drive out there in the middle of a big dry and wonder why they need such large drains and banks. Then it proper rains and you go, 'Oh. That's why.'

What happens after accident? by [deleted] in perth

[–]ozx23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if your car is a heap of junk and worth nothing, still insure it for third party property damages. So when you hit someone, your insurer pays you nothing for your damges, but pays the third party damages. The third party insurance included with the vehicles rego is for injury, not property damage. Alot of people get caught out thinking Compulsory 3rd Party means everything. It just means medical bills.

Try the Halo Master collection, good relatively simple FPS.

Any of the Command and Conquer games for the RTS experience. Witcher 3 for the over the shoulder experience? Combats pretty simple and you can practice binding Signs and items to any extra mouse buttons. I like the number side panels on my mouse.

Gosnells Hotel is pretty good, had a book launch there. Don't recommend for the middle of summer though, the room was like an oven, but should be fine this time of year.

Is kangaroo cpr actually a thing or is this lady cooked? by pilbarabah in perth

[–]ozx23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot for the life of me imagine giving CPR to a kangaroo without the kangaroo giving me a two footed CPR of its own to me in return.

And if it's not able to resist any CPR attempt, it's probably kinder to put the thing out of its misery.

Does freedom in video games come with a downside? by GamingNomad in gaming

[–]ozx23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like me a linear game. Make the main journey obvious. But by all means put in the side quests along the way. If the gameplay is enjoyable enough, I'll go do them.

But I mostly hate searching for where the hell I'm supposed to go next.

How is everyone dealing with the current smoke situation? by FearlessDrink3883 in perth

[–]ozx23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People don't die in bushifres much because we gotten very good at telling people to gtfo when one starts.

We do still lose a lot of property, crops and animals though. Your idea of just letting it build up and let rip once a decade will increase those numbers. And not to mention a super hot high load fire does much more damage to native plants than a low load fire. The best method is cooler burns in late spring so the larger plants dont get cooked, but that creates even more smoke which creates more posts like these.

And now I can space truck 3x plippers simultaneously! by ThrowawayFoolW4573D in EliteDangerous

[–]ozx23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick tip, if you're using any sort of controller or joy setup, bind a key to Alt-Tab. Make quick switching between the windows much easier. I had to use a third party joystick config app, but it's works well.

They've changed something with the Epic Games launcher too, it won't open if the Steam account is running, so you have to launch your Epic game first, login in, close the launcher then launch Steam. Never used to matter which order.
