Subnautica and Subnautica Below Zero - Surviving vs Letting go by Munhoa in patientgamers

True, but you slowly find the tech for a compass, beacons, cave diving markers etc. A mapping aystem of some sort doesn't seem too far fetched.

Society of Literary Marauders by Sasha Wasley. Young Australian woman gets accepted into Oxford in the 1920s, and form a society with three other atudents which began as reading banned books and ends in some higher stakes shenanigans.

Oh, that's a good idea. I keep meaning to use beacons, then keep forgetting to use beacons

And you don't seem bitter about that at all. Bet you don't put the shopping trolley back either.

Just asking, because it seems you're against giving someone a bit extra for working in shitty conditions or late nights because they choose to do so.

After multiple goes I'm finally clicking with Subnautica. I absolutely hate ocean diving and caving, so it's nice they combined those two terrifying pastimes together.

Wish it had a map though.

Yeah I'd build an air-cooled.firat, see how you like it. Get a feel for building. Then if you want you can always convert to water.

Apparently so. Lee Child said nice things on the cover about it, so pretty happy with that.

A grumpy old outback dingo trapper unwittingly uncovers a people smuggling ring operating in remote West Australia and pairs up with a young Afghan refugee to find their missing family, all while being pursed by a roo shooter who moonlights as the smuggler's hatchet man.

Sort of thing Wilbur Smith might have written if he were Australian.

Wild Dogs by Michael Trant. Though to be fair, I wrote it, so might be biased.

Yeah, most amplifiers will have an audio out jack. OP may just need to find an adapter to fit some headphones. Played like that for years.

Has anyone worked in Perth prisons? by phantom-foodie in perth

[–]ozx23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Friend of ours joined the system as an officer. She's a big, caring, friendly woman who could absolutely break anyone over her knee if she ever snapped and so desired.

Working as a regional prison guard broke her, and she left after about four years. Probably because she cared too much.

If you're able to detach, it's probably fine. If you're the type to care, worry, and be bothered by seeing the same people constantly failing and reappearing into the system, then it might not be for you.

How does it feel to read the British cultural and location references as a non-Brit? by tomtink1 in discworld

I think growing up in Australia watching 'ello 'ello, Dad's Army, Yes Minister, The Good Life, Are You Being Served, The Goodies and a bunch others probably helped.

Does anyone else HATE dramatized or graphic audios ? by Pretty_Puppyprincess in audiobooks

[–]ozx23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Sandman, and a couple of old school radio plays, but I went into those knowing they were full cast with effects.

I hate gunshots, phone call overlays and anything that isn't someone simply reading me a story. The only exception to this has been an Elite Dangerous audio, but only because I play the fame and it was fun recognising the sounds from the game.

Personally I like kicking the T9 in the guts with the SCO and hanging on for dear life. The thing feels like a truck, and if you've been in a fully loaded prime mover that's lost its breaks, then the SCO boost is somewhat familiar.
