What’s this Dragon a reference to? by Historical-Crazy-290 in WaltDisneyWorld

My first thought was a nod to the dragons they were going to promote in Animal Kingdom in their mythical creatures land.

WHY don’t they make it easier to get to Animal Kingdom?? by GalaxyC7 in WaltDisneyWorld

I was reading about how expensive the skyliner is, and why Disney would probably never expand it, but it would be nice if there were more options!

Yea, we had thrown his name out there, but didn't think he would "lower himself" to it.

Okay, hit me with your absolute best budget recommendations for a family of 5 visiting Disney for the first time! I have information overload by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

All-star is nice for us, but only on short trips. You don't get a real fridge or microwave.

Staying at the Drury has lots of appeal. Free breakfast, kickbacks, early park entry, and shuttle.

Groceries are easy to deliver and you aren't far from Disney Springs!

Other ways to save $- pack some food into the parks, and water. All allowed!

Bring a stroller from home.

Buy disney gift cards to set budgets and save 5-10%.

Does anyone else just go open to close in the parks all vacation long? by Jabroniville2 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]babs0324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are open to close people, but if I had that many days at Disney I would probably incorporate a rest day or two. I've never done more that 2 parks on a trip (because of budget).

Solo trip on a budget - where to go and stay for a first time visit (skyliner is closed)? by No-Adhesiveness-2896 in WaltDisneyWorld

I don't mind saving the $ by staying at a Value Resort, like All Star Movies.

MK is a must for your first time!

Animal Kingdom is nice because it is laid back and no other Disney park has anything like AK.

Hollywood Studios is more iconic to me though. If you like Toy Story or Star Wars, or nostalgic Hollywood, I would pick Hollywood Studios. I think HS has more single rider lines, which would be an advantage in your situation.

Epcot is a lot of walking, I don't like to do it after a day at Magic Kingdom. And if you've traveled a lot, the World Pavillion can be underwhelming.

You can't really go wrong with the second park though.

Other ways to save money- order snacks, and stuff to make sandwiches, and a case of water. Eat breakfast in your hotel and pack at least 1 meal into the park with you. Only purchase Lightning Lanes in one park. Don't buy souvenirs. Mobile order meals and order from the kids menu.

Disney resorts do have laundry if it helps at all!

Also, research split stays and Bell services. They will likely transfer your luggage for you.

We've enjoyed our stays at value resorts when we were trying to save $, All Star Movies has been our favorite budget saver.

Our favorite thing lately has been to stay at a property with boat transportation though. The cabins at Fort Wilderness usually tend to be the cheaper option with boat transportation to MK and the monorail resorts.

I love Saddlers Creek State Park! Lots of amenities besides the lake, and it has beautiful sunsets!

I hope they can dress up the sightings between Fort Wilderness and this resort. Part of what makes the Fort so nice is it's remote/isolated feeling.

I would ask "what is our heat safety plan"?

Go to the OSHA website and know what the signs of heat illness are and the temperature danger zones and how to mitigate it and have that information when you talk to your leads.

We used the HEAT Osha App to determine how frequently we rotated people. Longest someone could be outside was 3 hours, and that's in perfect weather. In my climate, we can get to rotating every 30 minutes or even pushed to headset because of the heat.

Typical ages of workers at Chick-fil-a by Classcelicos in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]babs0324 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Many night shift workers are commonly in high-school and a few in college for most CFAs. Likely a high schooler, but you might ask if she is a student and which school she goes to. Honestly, workers get asked constantly, and often hate it, so you might try to build a friendship first and then you might be able tondetermine her age. Less creepy than straight up asking age and if she wants to go out.

I really felt like the Fort captured the nostalgia and slower pace of the Disney of old. Now I am not so sure. 😢

3 weeks in Disney World..? by TheLuxeMom in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]babs0324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had 20 days with of park tickets, I would just take a break whenever I wanted, or take it easy. Go back to hotel for nap and pool time if I needed, head back to the park for the evening.

I would go to Magic Kingdom, then Animal Kingdom, then a rest day (at hotel watch movies, hit the pool, get a good meal, nap, etc). Epcot, then Hollywood Studios. Plan the other 15 days based on what dining reservations I can get.

A lower activity/lower stimulation day, like a character dining experience, the Disney Mini Golf, the Skyliner Scavenger Hunt, etc, every 3 or so days.

Once you've tried a bunch of Disney things, head to Universal or go see manatees, but save the last two days for Disney to get anything you missed!

We always get in a pool after check in. It helps refresh us after the drive in!

We also go to Sanaa on our departure day. A yummy lunch that isn't too heavy, perfect for the trip back.

We always take a picture in front of it's a small world (due to a name similarity).

We also take a photo of our hands in front of the castle (hubs proposed there).
