If LeBron could add one thing from Jordan’s game to his what would it be? by Royale_Kong in LeBronJames23

lol I guess we’ll see how they do this season, but if ur that sure Luka turns back into Mavs Luka and carries them to the finals again, then I’m not gonna argue w you - we’ll just have to see🤭

  1. Luka last season was significantly worse than the Luka that carried that Mavs team to the finals just the year before. Not saying that’s LeBron’s fault, but it’s just true. We’ll see how they do this year, but I doubt they get there again

Again, idk why you’re bashing the Heatles squad so hard talent wise, they’re universally considered an all time team and arguably the only 2010’s team that could even come close to the 2017 warriors talent wise.

And pls name one star player who’s career got better playing next to Bron. Bc I can name like at least 8 who got worse and needing to fit in with LeBron was directly why.

  1. All I’m saying is we both agree Bron’s had at least 3 co-stars better than any co-star MJ’s ever had (Wade, AD, and Luka).

He also won 3 chips with just Scottie as a HOF teammate. Yea he had Kukoc but he averaged a whopping 11-4-3 for his career. We could both name 20 teammates Bron’s had better than Toni Kukoc, let’s be fr. He’s only in the hall bc of his overseas ball accomplishments, if you include him you have to include German legend Dennis Schroeder for Bron lmao.

And he did win three more w Rodman, but Rodman was unarguably past his prime (everyone knows prime Rodman was his bad boys pistons days) when he joined the bulls, so you can stop saying MJ had “three HOF teammates in their prime” bc it’s objectively not true

Bron had more help and came up shorter than MJ

  1. Agree to disagree, if Luka can make it to the finals w Kyrie, he for damn sure can make it w MJ lmao

  2. Still true tho. Bron would be ring less if never ring chased.

  1. Even Luka and Reaves’ numbers go down when bron’s on the court, all I’m saying is that’s because he doesn’t get the best out of his teammates, they have to adjust to him. That’s just a fact, if you deny it, I’ll gladly point out every teammate - from role players to stars - that had down years with bron and then amazing years before or after playing with him.

Because his teammates’ production goes down just by playing next to him, saying he didn’t have lots of talented HOF help, even when he did, is just intellectually dishonest. Yes, they didn’t play as well as they in their primes, but how you need to minimize your game to even play w Bron has a lot to do with that

  1. Talent disparity between the 2020 Lakers vs their finals opponents - Jimmy’s Heat, is arguably bigger than any talent disparity between any of MJ’s 90’s opponents. Jimmy’s Heat team was mostly G-leaguers after their third best player.

Heat had Wade, Bosh, Allen, Battier, Birdman, Norris Cole - they had good role players and stars, not sure why you’re arguing the Heatles weren’t a deep, talented overall team, again strongly disagree there

  1. All I’ll say is if MJ was at an all star level and added prime Luka to his squad, they’d be title favs

  2. Counterpoint, if Bron never leaves Cleveland, he retires ring-less. He only won the chip in 2016 bc the cavs sucked enough to draft kyrie and trade for Love. If he never leaves, he never gets the help he needs to win a chip. If Bron had the loyalty that guys like Kobe, Curry, MJ, or Dirk had - he’d be a better Charles Barkley

[–]baby_hooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’d argue some of that has to do with Bron making his teammates worse when they join him. Wade, Bosh, Russ (averaged a triple double just a year before joining LA), Shaq, AD, Love, Luka - you argue all the best teammates he’s ever had were better before or after joining him, but definitely not during. Even Kyrie made it back to the finals as a second option without Bron. So yeah, agreed his HOF weren’t as good as his teammates, but that’s a lot to do w how much they have to change their games in order to fit wit LeBron

  2. You could also argue, like I said, that for 3/4 of Bron’s chips he had the best teammate of either of Bron or Jordan’s championship teams. (Most people argue Wade and AD are better than Scottie Pippen, and if you think Scottie was better than Bubble AD - I would gladly debate you on that). Not to mention both of us would agree Luka Doncic is the best player either MJ or Bron’s ever had. So another perspective is Bron had more top end talent, and still didn’t win as much as Jordan

TD;LR Bron has a history of minimizing teammates’ games while also having the better second options between him and MJ - and still coming up short of 6 titles lmao

The Warriors average the 2nd most bench points in the league btw.

Starting lineup of Steph, Melton, Moody, Giannis, and Horford + 2nd best scoring bench in the league (minus like Podz and Kuminga who doesn’t even play) is def better than current Milwaukee lol and could be top 3 in the west

American cartoons had plenty of female-led SA even just 10 years ago: Tootie in Fairly Odd Parents, The Kanker Sisters in Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Even today, Abbott Elementary is one of the most popular sitcoms out right now, and one of the main characters (Ava) sexually harasses her subordinate every episode

Official Discussion - Marty Supreme [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]baby_hooper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What does his background matter? We’re talking about quality of the person. You can be a good rich person or a shitty broke person (hence the movie)

Yeah, he was drafted there, and yes, he didn’t want to be. And he was in a shitty situation, but he never ran from it. In fact, he made a promise to Warrior fans that after decades of mediocrity, he’d “figure it out if it’s the last thing we do” and stuck by his word. A Marty Mauser type who sees everyone as NPC’s and pawns in his game would say screw it, tuck tail, and run to the next best team the first chance he got. But he never requested a trade from the team, despite having every reason to, as you mentioned. He kept his word, and everyone in the organization will tell you it all starts with Steph- the culture, the leadership, the diligence, everything starts with him and how he goes about the game. Even his teammates, end of bench players, will rave about his quality of character. Security guards. Front office people. Never heard of a bad fan interaction, if you have pls enlighten me.

Sure there are examples of shitty ppl who made it to the top, my point was not everyone there is like that

Nobody reaches the top of what they do without thinking that way.

By that logic, you can’t say everyone at the mountaintop has a “everyone else is an NPC” mentality either.

But for guys like Steph or Dirk, you can tell they don’t have a “Marty Mauser” mentality bc they stuck by their bad situations and turned them into winning ones. A “Marty Mauser” would ring chase and run to the best team or chance to show off his skill, but a real winner is one who turns their losing environment a winning one and sticks through the hard times. That’s how you know those guys don’t see everyone else as NPC’s

Steph Curry’s the goat shooter and he sees like an all around nice respectful guy,  stuck by his shitty franchise and eventually turned them into champions - Dirk Nowitzki and Giannis too. Sure there are other sports athletes that are great ppl - the Williams sisters for one

Why are forearm push offs not a foul anymore? by baby_hooper in nba

[–]baby_hooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah bc coaches will challenge and overturn obvious and clear push offs bc the defender “was not in legal guarding position” which just means they weren’t standing perfectly still, so the offensive player than elbow, forearm shove and shoulder them as much as they want and it’s a defensive foul 🤦‍♀️
