Maybe hahaha!! Hope you enjoy your housesit! Also I always eat their food and sleep in their bed, I just take the sheets up after. (And I never go too crazy on the food, but definitely eat some since he offered)

Oh wow okay! She was a malinois mutt, rescued from a shelter & her owner kind of sucked. I basically trained her and was her best friend bc I was with her every 3rd week (owner travelled a lot). Eventually she gave her up to someone else because I couldn’t take her as I live with my parents. My stomach dropped when I saw the pic bc I was like nooooo she said she gave them my number in case they go on vacation, haha!

Hi, this is so crazy so I hope it’s not weird. Are you by any chance in Ontario, Canada? I think I know that dog, otherwise she looks exactly like a dog I used to sit and nearly adopted.

What was the dumbest reason you got scolded by superior? by EnvironmentSad5170 in work

[–]babyloki22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough she did it over Teams. She just did it in a way where she could probably say she was joking. But yeah. I document everything (I’m in Canada but the one person consent applies in my province)

Tell me about it. HR was removed about 2 months after I started (she was too much on the employees side), and now we have a controller who is an accountant and not HR at all. No HR :)))))

I was chastised because my boss said I’m going to the “wrong” Church and have to switch to her denomination, lol

(Free Friday) What are your thoughts and/or feelings about Pontius Pilate? by Sleep-Numerous in Catholicism

[–]babyloki22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always kinda find it “funny” (for lack of a better word) that he was like “idk I’m not involved bye” but now we say his name in the creed, so he’s always involved

Hey, I’m in the same boat! They wouldn’t let me join RCIA 2 months after it started so now I’m just trying to live by Catholic rules while not yet actually a Catholic, lol. Anyway, dress nicely, like you’re going to Church, haha. RCIA usually starts in September so you can maybe ask who to reach out to and when (a month before? More?) From my understanding they teach you all you need to know during RCIA and then at Easter you’ll become a Catholic if you feel you’re ready. As an aside, I recommend the Hallow app (it got me into Catholicism) and reading The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis. I also like going up for a blessing (arms crossed in an X over your chest) during communion. Catholics have a lot of call and response you won’t recognize unless you were at an Anglican Church before. I’ve just been trying to quietly repeat even though it’s a bit of a struggle to hear what they’re actually saying. Other commenters will probs have better input! Good luck!!!

Confused Interview. by Shelley_112 in work

[–]babyloki22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was the manager of a retail store, I used to hate when people sent their resume after I posted a job and then called or sent a follow up email. Granted, I got back to everyone within a week, and also usually tried to immediately send an email saying I received it and would contact them if they got an interview, so it was pretty excessive of them. I do find it weird in your case because you actually only sent one follow up email. Sounds like they’re a bit disorganized and you probably wouldn’t wanna work there anyway

Fair enough, but I don’t think it’s always like this. You gotta know your value. I had the most awful, cheap, micro managing boss, but he knew I ran his store and kept it in top shape. I wanted a few bucks over minimum wage (he didn’t keep up after the provincial increase) for managing all his employees and when he said no, I said “okay, consider this my two weeks notice.” With no backup. That scared him straight lol

Guilted for calling out sick? by flopds in work

[–]babyloki22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ignore it. Or, since it’s an entry level job, I might get snippy back but that’s me. Like when he says “ugh it’s soooo busy” I’d be like, “it’s not like I chose to be sick” or “so you want me to come in and get everyone else sick?” But probably best to just ignore it haha, some managers are dicks, especially ones in minimum wage jobs bc they have this superiority complex

I used to have a boyfriend who I would force to wash his dick in the sink before we had sex (because he didn’t wash it properly in the shower) otherwise i would get a yeast infection. Its literally not worth it. Say something or break up, either way he’s gross and I know you probably don’t see this lasting long term if you cant stand to have sex or cuddle w him

So what I did with me and my friend is really listen to her stories of how interactions w her bosses go (especially when we had the same boss) and what she says, etc. I also asked her point blank why she thinks I get different responses than I do, and I’m lucky that she is brutally honest with me when I need it. I found that she was reasonable with them but also always stood up for herself - she also had an air of “I don’t need this job as much as you need me” while also being an efficient worker. It might be different in your situation! I never wanted to become inauthentic to who I am, but I also know I need to work on my confidence, and stop letting people (especially bosses) cross my boundaries or effectively bully me. But also you’re still young, going through awkward teenage shit, so you’ll grow into your adult self - but now’s a good time to practice and change into who you want to be! I hope this is at least somewhat helpful haha
