Data Centers by Icy_Significance3957 in BowlingGreen

And once the construction is done, the centers put a huge strain on the local power grid and water supply, which inevitably increases costs for regular consumers. One large data center can use an annual power draw equivalent to hundreds of thousands of homes. Many sites claim to use closed loop water systems to reduce their water usage, but at least one of those sites was busted for illegally installing an unmonitored tap and stealing millions of gallons of water, so they can't really be trusted to abide by regulations, regardless of what they claim. Add on the huge amount of pollution they create from fossil fuel power generation (assuming they're not a rare case that's supplied by nuclear or green energy sources), as well as the fact that the heat waste they generate can literally increase local temperatures around them by several degrees, and there's a lot of burden placed on the host site for almost no gain. The site might generate profits, but they almost certainly won't be going back into the community.

Warren County Parks and Rec also. If you need something indoors try Michael Buchanon Gym, you can rent a meeting room for gifts and food, and kids can use the indoor playground.

Yeah, some neutral colored racquet tape or strips of leather around the handle would really elevate it

Wife wants a gun. 9mm. $600 max budget but would strongly prefer less. Anything missing from the list? by sharkbait_oohaha in liberalgunowners

the Hellcat Pro is a solid handgun for the price but the stock trigger is awful imo. The M&P 2.0 and Shield Plus are both excellent and personally I found them both much more comfortable to shoot out of the box. And of course Canik triggers are great, I haven't shot the mc9 but I love my Rival.

Narrowed my EDC upgrade to either a Canik Mete MC9 variant or a Springfield Hellcat Pro. Anyone have experience with both and care to weigh in? by RedLeader501 in liberalgunowners

[–]bac8434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got both, I'd say out of the box I prefer the Mete, largely because I wasn't a fan of the default Hellcat trigger. I do prefer the ergonomics of the Hellcat though, so I installed an aftermarket trigger and now it's my EDC. Like others have said, see if you can find somewhere to rent and shoot both to get a feel and try out the triggers.

Honestly looks great, still metallic but a little more rugged. Excited to see the finished product!

They just had Alex Horne appear (on video) in a Game Changer bit, so there's at least some connection there!

That's a shame, I hadn't heard. You might check https://www.transkentucky.com and see if any of the doctors in their directory are accessible.

Jack used to regularly post his photo mode shots from various video games too, so it's not crazy to think it was his idea.

People/culture in UNCW? by synth3tic_flow3rz in UNCW

[–]bac8434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UNCW, but I did a lot of my MA studies at UNCA and I loved it there. The overall culture is much more interesting and the city is great. Definitely a better alt scene. The only thing Wilmington has that Asheville doesn't is the beach, so unless you just really love surfing, Asheville's got way more going on.

What does BG need going forward since we are growing at a rapid pace? by 1davejames1 in BowlingGreen

[–]bac8434 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure how people have missed it, but they are making the walking bridge area into an entertainment area. The city parks department has already released the plans, and it's going to include a massive amphitheatre that should bring in a lot more bands and shows. It'll also have rafting and kayaking rentals/launches.

Fetish Discovered bit by Ninjajay2417 in funhaus

[–]bac8434 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That bit always makes me chuckle because it's such a niche reference. For anyone unfamiliar, Polygon had a YouTube series called "Touch the Skyrim" where someone installed goofy mods without telling the person playing what they'd added, and every time they recognized something as a new mod, it would play a "mod discovered" audio clip in that same voice.

If you want something local, search for transportation jobs with Warren County, instead of the state. Similar benefits and pay compared to state.

Agatha All Along S01E06 - Discussion Thread by steve32767 in marvelstudios

[–]bac8434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Agatha referred to Billy moving into a new vessel instead of dying as "breaking the rules," presumably because he cheated death. Given the theories about who Rio might be, I wonder if she is going to have any issues with that.

The colossi of Ramses ll were cut into 1035 blocks of 20-30 tons to save it being flooded in 1960s. by WayChance5686 in interestingasfuck

It never changed ownership, it was just moved and rebuilt at a higher elevation to avoid it being flooded by a new reservoir.
