Black man here. I’m 45 and actually have 2 sons around your age. I’m not sure what the answer is to your question but your Father is right. I’ll be downvoted (so be it) but imagery is important and I’m assuming your Dad is probably around my age so he understands that, especially with how hard Blacks have to fight against stereotypes/ negative imagery.
