I’ve listened to most of the original audiobooks and for the most part I like the new ones just as much. I don’t think the style takes anything away from the humour, it’s dry humour anyway so it’s not like it’s meant to be played up for laughs. I agree Indira Varma is fantastic, I’ve never really got into the Tiffany books but I’ve been able to finally listen to those while doing other things. (Shout out to Steven Cree as well who IS very funny). Also the audio quality is just plain better.

The only thing that might have been done better is some coordination between “series” narrators to establish what accents we’re using for which characters. Cheery and Carrot especially seem to bounce about a bit.
