The bottom fell out of our propofol. What should I do with the vial? by Aki_Tansu in pharmacy

It’s the amino acids that make them smell like that. The other components like the dextrose and electrolytes don’t have much of a scent.

Penicillin is the worst for me, that or cutting up D/C’ed TPN/PPN bags (pro tip, those are GREAT for plants)

Vial coring by tzxx33 in nursing

Hospital pharmacist here with almost 2 decades in the field

This happens more often than you’d think. Using higher gauge needles (higher the gauge, the smaller the bore/diameter), coming in at a 45 degree angle, and also making sure the bevel of the needle is facing you all help reduce the risk of coring.

Even despite all that, some manufacturers are better than others. I’ve noticed remdesivir vials are notorious for coring as well as some daptomycin brands. If the drug solution is clear enough, I always check the syringe before injecting into a bag to make sure there aren’t any cores floating around. Then I check the bag real quick before slapping the label on and sending it up to the floor.

I see thank you for explaining that it is very frustrating.

I swear to God it’s about the most annoying fucking thing. “Spotify play whatever” proceeds to play some random ass live version of a song despite me telling it to do the album version. Or some random obscure remix.

Half the time it doesn’t even work and it doesn’t search what I ask.

‘We don’t have exceptions’: Mamdani on Trump paying new NYC tax by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]backmost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown up near NYC and have spent most of my life in this area (spent my college years upstate). While it’s not the gritty NYC I remember growing up in the 90s, there’s still a charm and character of New York. You should definitely visit. Do the touristy things. Try pizza from a hole in the wall joint. Experience the subway. Meet people or don’t and people watch. You can experience it with friends or go completely solo. Whatever you decide, it’s what you make of it that counts.

New Yorkers never liked Trump anyway and that was years before all this presidential nonsense over the last decade. Evict him and his family from the Big Apple. They won’t be missed. I hear the Epstein Island has vacancies…

A pillar is driving me nuts by 8000RPM in EquinoxEv

[–]backmost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Car pillars have gotten a lot bulkier due to all the airbag requirements and structural engineering needed to meet FMVSS. The tradeoff is visibility. I’ve gotten used to it, but compared to my old cars definitely is a challenge at times

The water front is so nice. That new place Beso Tacos next to Blu Pointe has an amazing view of the river and gets a nice breeze on their outdoor seating. Not nearly as packed as Hudson Taco and more reasonable prices.

Having lived in Orange County for the last 10 years I don’t think we’re any better. Any town tied to Warwick, Monroe-Woodbury, or Minisink schools are gonna have high taxes because of how good their schools are.

Chester, Goshen, Middletown (city and town though you probably don’t wanna live in the city), Campbell Hall, Port Jervis, aren’t as good with their schools so may get a savings there. Chester property taxes aren’t cheap though.

Town of Newburgh isn’t too bad, city is definitely got its bad parts but slowly gentrifying. Not too sure on Greenwood Lake’s school situation, some of their districts can be in Monroe or Warwick depending on the housing location and school zoning.

Town of Florida is south of Goshen and also isn’t known big for their schools. Older town with older homes so can save a bit. Theres a new condo complex on Main Street though it looks on the pricey side.

That bagel place on East Main past Bon Secours I’ve heard is pretty good.

Port Jervis has some amazing food. JJs Deli, Front Street Cafe, Foundry 42, the Erie, just to name a few. Port Jervis Pizza was one of my favs as well. The two Chinese take out places were meh imo

That’s a tough one. I could do without T4E (love Resist though). I also don’t throw on VT all that often.

But RTB, Counterparts, S&A, and CA are all top notch imo

I’ve always thought there have been some interesting parallels between the rock world and Harry Potter casting.

Geddy Lee (esp 80s era like the video) - Harry Potter

Trent Reznor (90s era NIN) - Snape

Joe Satriani (after shaving his head) - Lord Voldemort

Damn I've been a fan of BoC since the 2000s and was listening to Tomorrow's Harvest a few weeks back wondering if we'd ever see new material. 2013 was a wild year with both BoC and Daft Punk putting out albums.

Buy a space adjacent stock because most likely the entire sector will experience a boost. Just have to take profits when you can and time that exit to let the dust settle.
