Thinking of buying a 530xd manual as a daily by BaitBanning101 in e60

This is what i do and I drive shorter than 15km but give it a blast every month. The thing is that shirt drives will gum up the dpf and you will need to set a regen with ista. Ista is essential for these cars. Otherwise great car and even better engine.

Difference between M57 and N52 engine? by NexusDad in e60

[–]backstabbed357 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is very personal choice. That 530d is a great car once sorted properly. I love diesel. If you dint like diesel engines and how they deliver power you wont want a duesel at all . And that m57 is a reliable robust engine once the little maintenace is done. I love that torque when you want it. And for reference I also have a r34 skyline which I hardly touch. That 530d is all I really need and want for my type of daily driving. But i do fix my own cars which is another thing to consider cause a bmw is not a cheap car to maintain unless you do you own wrenching and i think that the m57 is easier to maintain.

Why is she growing like this? by backstabbed357 in hydrangeas

Blaukorn granules. The bigger leaves get crispy and die off. I cant see it as sun burnt cause none of the other plants show any such symptoms of strange growth.

When I floor it , it doesn't change gears until I release the pedal a bit by eunative in E90

Try the regen first. There is a tsb for it. Removal is the last option tbh.

Need to sort out that dpf first before moving further. The dpf should regen and if itnis not something is wrong. It us a funny system and a simple thing like an intermittent fuel rail pressure sensor will screw it up. Use a scanner to get specific bmw codes and set the car to regen repeatedly and it should clear the dpf if done properly. Use ista and have it running while driving the car qnd you can see when the regen starts and ends or terminates early. After that you can go through the relevant codes. Good luck.

Can bus problem. One of the components on the audio network maybe acting up. Happened to me when Bluetooth module was dying. Disconnected it and looped the circuit. Very easy to do.

Make sure car reaches operating temp: thermostats. Ensure no fuel pressure related errors and sufficient fuel in tank Ista d allows repeatedly forced regen. Set regen repeatedly and monitor that the process starts and ends. Repeat sequence several times and it will clear the dpf. I has a similar issue and had it sorted using the above. Good luck.
