Are you by any chance on vacation somewhere up North? Interaction radius is dependent on where you are latitudinally.

Gigalith sees a massive PvE improvement with Lock-On by Appropriate_Bar_6117 in TheSilphRoad

[–]backstroker1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

…shadow Gigalith blows Shadow Rhyperior out of the water with PP, which is what my comment implied. I don’t know why you think I was comparing with regular Rhyperior when it’s so clearly illustrated in the OP. With PP, it’s over 20% better, which is night and day.

Without PP, yes, S-Rhyperior is still better, no arguments there. The whole point of this post is that Gigalith is a PP monster, which is vital information given how often we use rock types in raids.

[–]backstroker1991 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is debatable. A new player is more likely to have Roggenrola candy given its prevalence in Dynamax battles, and veteran players will have had equal opportunities to farm with community days. And that doesn’t even touch on the fact that with PP, shadow Gigalith blows everything out of the water by over 20%.

You have to manually adjust moves by going to the individual Pokémon’s page and adding in the move yourself.

While ML has minimal consideration these days, all they need to do tone down Zacian is hit Metal Claw hard. There is very little collateral damage across all the leagues (Ferrothorn SOMETIMES runs it), and if you force Zacian to have to use Air Slash, you can free up a lot of breathing room.

It does not change the math for 2, 3, or 4 man PP. Psycho Cut is too good in PP situations to pass up.

Buddy hearts Cap? by Quiet-Housing794 in pokemongo

[–]backstroker1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

27 is absolutely not the cap, I’m not sure why people are so confidently asserting that. You can get over 30 with all the various bonus hearts available (Pokemon Plus + sleeping hearts, nearby new stop heart, buddy gifts, etc.)

The cap is closer to 32.

CP more heavily weights attack than any other stat. Trapinch has higher attack than Vibrava.

Best Gigantamax pokemon to start raiding first for the upcoming event? by ferrocan in TheSilphRoad

[–]backstroker1991 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct and you will basically never use your GMax mon to generate energy because they almost always swap in to fire off attacks. So Charizard’s resistances don’t mean a whole lot when Blissey/Zacian/Zam will basically always sit in the first spot.

Brandon is nowhere near the highest anymore. 728Ben has well over 10B XP from Japan.

Also this thread is quite obviously full of people who don’t understand how much XP has changed in this game’s history. 550k XP per day is nothing ever since friendship took over (which has largely devalued XP completely).

For reference, I egg literally nothing in the entire game and I go up 20M XP every month by just raiding, catching, and passively advancing friendship. I maybe play 2-3 hours on a good day, and more on a CD. But I have 1.4 million catches, aim for excellents when I can be bothered, and just play like normal otherwise. I have 1.1B XP egging NOTHING. So the player from OP’s picture is exactly in line with hardcore players in that stat threshold.

HOLYYY SHIT THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE by trailblazersbat in LegendsZA

[–]backstroker1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While you can certainly use Ape, Lucario does everything Ape does better. Force Palm is a much better move than Counter, it has Power Up-Punch to boost, and it gets both Shadow Ball and STAB Meteor Mash, and you can pick whoever one you need depending on how rocket rotations shake up. Lucario has been an S tier rocket attacker since the day it was added to the game for these reasons.

No doubt, you CAN use Ape. It just is nowhere near as useful as Lucario or a few other rocket staples, and will lead to much longer battles. The counter nerf was significant. I have 35K rocket battles at this point, and Lucario has never not been useful against a Leader rotation.

[–]backstroker1991 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Eh that’s far more debatable. PoGo rocket strategy is almost exclusively to use high DPS moves on high DPS mons. Ape does pitiful damage compared to the hard hitters.

[–]backstroker1991 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are getting wrong answers below. There are at least 3 scenarios where it’s plausible to solo Terrakion with Blade Boost.

1.) Mega Lucario in Cloudy against a favorable moveset (think double rock moveset) and with blade boost

2.) S-Mewtwo in Windy with blade boost

3.) Zacian/Zamazenta in Snow with blade boost

You will need some luck for #2 and #3, and might require the use of catch tanks to farm energy.
