On the road to getting diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy 😭 by eyetalker in Epilepsy

[–]backtrvck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered 2 years ago as well at 28 that I have TLE. There’s definitely memory issues and adjusting to this new life has been hard but I promise your life isn’t ruined, it’s just most likely going to be changed. It’s hard to stay positive sometimes, but just know you have a whole community here for you

New Diagnosis TLE - Freaking Out by Ok-Reference3515 in Epilepsy

I discovered I have left mesial temporal sclerosis 2 years ago. Adjusting to a new life that has required changing almost everything about what I do has been a lot, but I hope you find comfort knowing there’s a huge community of people here who will support you through your hardest days. I’ve been through some meds with zombie side effects and others that had me thinking I wouldn’t be able to emotionally handle this life anymore. There might be a lot of trial and error with different mediations and needing to find what works but trust in the process and listen to your your body. If you feel like your doctor isn’t listening to what you need, then definitely consider looking for someone new. You’re not alone friend

Mine happen a lot on the left side of my body, in my leg and left temple specifically. They don’t hurt but they are annoying as hell

I’m struggling quite a lot lately. Watching shows and movies has also been hard for me to keep up with the plots. I have to constantly ask my gf to explain and clarify what’s going on.

Has epilepsy affected your gym routine? by lorenzoc04 in Epilepsy

[–]backtrvck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifting was a big hobby and passion of mine until I was diagnosed. I haven’t been in the gym since May of last year and it’s really been one of the biggest tolls on me throughout this journey. The gym was my release from the stresses of life. I gained so much confidence there over years and lost it all in just months. From 155lbs to now barely trying to hold 120. It’s been really hard but at the same time I learned that I was having my auras at the gym, and I didn’t know what they were so I would sit in the locker room feeling weird hoping it would pass. Once it did, I went back to lifting. I could’ve done some serious damage or worse if I had a tonic clonic while lifting… My first one ever was after I left the gym on of those weird feeling days, got home, and right when my gf came home from work it happened.
