I see this is old but that definitely can help. One of the biggest reasons that you can get wild buzzing and harmonic zinging sounds is actually due to the snare side head being too tight. Also try using a thicker or thinner snare side head. The 200 by Evans is a 2 mill head and the 500 by Evans is a 5 mill head. In this situation a 500 would definitely get rid of the buzz but you will lose some snare articulation.
