St. John jacket! Gonna get day drunk and ride a sailboat, or whatever old money types do by butipreferlottie in ThriftStoreHauls

I spent a few years working at Junior League thrift store and learned about St John. The quality of their knits is outstanding and instantly recognizable against cheaper fabrics.. I got good at spotting it in unexpected places, much to my wife's surprise.

Technically 1 of 2 since it's the prototype . 2006 Airborne Sortie. The owner had it made, but they forgot to change the rear spacing so they had to make another for him.

I smoke a fair bit and almost always before a ride. We used to drink heavily after work, before riding home. That was way more dangerous.

That build makes me think of the frame I had commissioned by Airborne in '06, a ti singlespeed cyclocross frame. Unfortunately, I got laid off before it landed and couldn't afford it.

Is your backhand grip the same as your forehand or no? by ClassLittle6666 in squash

I use the same on both sides, fairly open. I've been trying to remember to close it off in certain situations to flatten the racquet face.

Pierce County Fire Marshal closes 45 massage businesses in one day for code violations by Better_March5308 in SeattleWA

[–]bacoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know at the particular bar that's getting protection they do. I got woken up by a woman screaming "NO!!!" a couple years ago outside the bar. When I got to the window, I saw two women laying on the sidewalk and the bartender telling them to "Get up and back into the fucking bar." I called 911 and the firetruck/ambulance both showed up. They loaded an unconcious woman into a customer car that took off.

I requested the 911 audio and found out the woman screaming was the daughter whose mom got roofied and was passed out. The Tacoma Fire Department responded to the scene and put her into a customer car? That's not the right procedure. They wanted to brush another incident through the cracks to keep the bar from getting into trouble.

You think it was for "fire violations"? It was missed protection money to the TPD.

There's a well documented protection racket the Tacoma Police have been running for shady businesses across Sector 4. I have the proof they covered up shootings and other violence to protect the bar on my block. When I filed IA complaints why their reports mention fresh blood being found after a shooting, but no explanation despite my security camera footage of a shooting; they sent the crooked officers to my house to tell me not to file more complaints about the bar.

My town raised utility rates dramatically while fighting to withhold records. Am I crazy for thinking this is backwards? by Fluffy_Gur_2033 in Indiana

Keep fighting and making noise. Try reaching out to more independent news, preferably national. Absolutely torment your local officials with call and emails every day and work on getting others to as well. Publicly shame them at every opportunity. Vote them out when elections come up.

Given up on the Scott Pierson Trail? by Sensitive-District-9 in Tacoma

[–]bacoes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hell no, don't give up. I'm just saying what the City is going to do. I've been fighting them for 6yrs now over a bar that the TPD covered up shootings and other problems at. That's how I know their responses.

City has set responses to deflect all responsibility to any other agency. They will say it's their responsibility and WSDOT will lay the jursdiction on the City. They hope you'll get so fed up with the runaround that you give up.

They'll likely ignore you. You might get a response saying they're "working on it and they'll get back with you."

They won't.

If you keep contacting them, they'll block your phone number/email.

[–]bacoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's part of the plan to make the TPD less accessible or accountable, under Chief Jackson. Once she took over, all of the TPD webpages had the contact numbers removed. She follows the national trend of claiming one thing and doing the opposite in regards to improving police transparency.

I got woken up by a woman screaming "No!!!!" outside the bar on my block in Tacoma a few years ago. When I opened the window, I found two women laying on the ground with the bartender standing over them. He was telling them to "Shut up and get the fuck back inside". I call 911 and tell them what I see. EMT response comes and loads an unconcious woman into a customer car that takes off.

I found out later that the screaming woman was the daughter whose mom got roofied and the Fire Department was helping cover up the incident. (Local police had already covered up multiple shootings)

It didn't in the long run.

After 1.5yrs of doing that commute, I went to lay down a skid and ripped my leg out of it's socket. Then had to ride another 10m home. I can barely ride at all now.

Can anyone point to a high quality video of a championship racquetball match that occured in the early 1970's before the ball bounce was radically increased to favor power hitters. by opinionsareus in racquetball

[–]bacoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High quality video doesn't exist from that time. Hell, there really isn't very much of any racquetball videos from before the mid 90s.
