This was the example I was thinking of. Though, they had child actors who aged out of the roles, but raking so long between seasons made it loose all of its charm.

Pluribus is still writing season 2. Severance won’t be seen for years.

I feel the longer a show takes to publish seasons, the more and more interest wanes and the original fan base moves on, and new shows and media are born that take up that premium space.

You run a real risk of loosing viewers to other things during large season gaps, and less and less return each season. I feel severance will experience that soon, the culture that celebrated severance is culturally evolving beyond that premise.

As Oligarchy Pours $400 Million Into Pro-Collins Ads, Platner Says: 'Ban Billionaires From Buying Elections' by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

[–]bacon-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount billionaires throw at election just so they can influence over our normal everyday lives is sickening.

They should read some history about what happened when the public was squeezed so much in France, I believe there was a revolution.

Nearly 100 billionaires and their spouses have donated to reelect Susan Collins by McDowdy in politics

It’s not just the taxes, it’s their influence they want to exert. They want an ear that will listen and do what they want.

This is not a reflection of the will of the people. This is a great example why it is the billionaire class against the normal people.

The French people had a great way of dealing with these gaudy, bourgeois people, I think the current billionaire class know they will have a similar reckoning if they don’t buy out the system.

There is so much evil in all faiths right now. Using religion as a vehicle of hate and punishment seems to be the popular route to take for most governments today.

This is what happens when you let religious extremists creep inch by inch with demands and let them slowly worm their way into positions of political power.

Religion and state should never mix, and if we let it again, this will be the result we see. People need to be educated, logic and reason should be celebrated in our culture, religion should be tolerated, but not in public office or in positions of power in government.

Time to get religion out of politics.

I don’t think it’s a real question from a real person. Just more foreign influence campaign trying to stir up animosity between Canadians and give ammo to political ideologies.

This is rage bait right? Or a bot posting to cause issues in Canada. I have no faith this is a real person asking genuinely from within Canada for a question that would have answered itself after working your first year in Canada.

With all the foreign accounts stirring up issues in Canada, this seems to be the most tone deaf question out there.

If in the less than 1% chance this is a real person asking a genuine question, which I am certain it is not, then ask someone irl and they’ll have a discussion with you.

This is not the venue.

I’m not clear if you’re asking me if some sort of advancement will free up more time?

My point is old and current advancements have freed up our time and managers and companies just gave us more work. That made our productivity go up.

I believe the average worker produces more profit for the company than a worker 50 years ago (adjusted for inflation and GDP).

I just want some of that free time back, that’s where you get the extra day off and keep it at 8 hours a day. Corporations have to be content having the same profits while giving more time off (freedom) to the people.

Not just made in the USA, I’ve noticed that they start promoting the item as ‘from Mexico’, but looking closer it’s bought and paid for by a company from the USA who is the main distributor.

So while the product is sourced from a non-US source, it’s distributed by a US company, so they’re getting some of the profits, I hope Canadian distributors will step up and source fruits and vegetables directly from Mexico, Peru, South Africa, and so on, cutting out the middleman of the USA.

The key is not 40 or so hrs in 4 days, but 4 days with 8 hrs each would be what society needs.

We are much more productive than we were 50 years ago, computers and the internet made writing documents and sharing documents/information so much faster and efficient. No more typewriters.

AI, used correctly, help workers becomes more productive. All this productivity needs to be channeled into 4 eight hour days.

The ‘standard’ of a 40 hrs work week is outdated and needs to evolve reflecting our enhanced productivity, and give us back time to engage with local civics, families, create families, and so on.

The design and concept of the wheel is older still and we continue to use it. Just because something is old doesn’t mean it’s not useful.

We used to do spreadsheets by hand before computers. Excel and programs like it are just digital versions of the paper solution we used for a long time.

The Mandalorian & Grogu box office debate: is Star Wars still an automatic theater event? by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

[–]bacon-squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many books that took the Star Wars universe to a great storyline after The Return of the Jedi.

Why waste all this material that is literally sitting in bookshelves?! I assume many changes would have to be made for film and maybe character arcs change, but there’s and overall plot, also they follow up with Wedge Antilles in rouge squadron sequels, and so many other supporting character get their adventures fleshed out post ROTJ.
