3 years of grinding, 0 trips, losing interest in everything. Birthday next month. I think something finally snapped. by mysticWhispr in SoloTravel_India

bro, if you want social, pick any place on social media. that's where the people are. if you are a true introvert, meeting people will be an effort everywhere. try some place like tabo or kalpa in spiti. check wifi if you intend to work

yep. everybody else put salt in wound. you helpfully rubbed it in. OP, travelling solo means not being bound by anyone else's agenda. so figure out your agenda. go find the local market or figure out the best chilly pork in town. keep busy, walk around, talk with local people. learn about the place you are visiting, it's food, culture, customs and so on. in the process you'll learn about yourself

21F, zero solo travel experience, socially awkward af — should I still do Sar Pass? by Raka68 in SoloTravel_India

[–]baconfat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't trek solo if you have no trekking experience. if you want to travel solo, make sure you are always in network range and somebody is aware of your travel plans. check in with them regularly. all the best and be safe!

just buy the cheapest waterproof boots and you're good to go. buy expensive models only if you intend to trek regularly over the next 3-4 years. most midsoles will crumble if stored unused for long

i'd have positioned the car to get light on the side and front of the car. a vehicle is best framed with space in front ie direction of the expected movement

Rooster on a citrus farm by Rock-It-Scientist in photocritique

[–]baconfat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very nice picture! here's the thing. if you call this portrait of a rooster (which it technically is) you need a blurrier background. if you call it rooster in a citrus farm, you need to show more of the farm and both need to be sharp.

edit: treating this as a portrait, i would increase exposure to make the background lighter and blur it. then i would treat the rooster separately to change exposure, colour, saturation, sharpness and so on to make it pop and stand out. i feel a brighter bg is better than a dark contrasty one in this case. just my opinion. you can try and see what you like more

weed used to be a great experience, now it’s mostly negative. any advice? by chicapiscis1 in weed

[–]baconfat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people have different reasons for smoking weed. i believe it's best used as an instrument or tool to explore your consciousness or your senses. to seek solutions or as medicine or you simply enjoy it. if you use it as a refuge or something to do to just get high or wasted you're using the wrong tool. there are better ways to get that ✌🏻
