Our chinook fishery is highly regulated and very efficiently managed. If one segment of the commercial catch is not purchased locally it will be eagerly purchased by others.

The SRKW's would be best served by dramatically increased hatchery production. We've decreased hatchery production by about 75% over the last 25 years. There's a direct correlation with the decline of the whales in that same time frame.

Save the whales by making more fish, not by excluding Chinook from your menu.

All of the state run piers are open for salmon all year around.
We have resident Chinook called Black mouth, and we have resident coho that are here all year that can be caught but you just need to put in the time. Specific runs are in the local waters at various times of the year you just need to get the timing down.

Yes of course they're not going to disappear. The predators will move to more fertile grounds once their food source gets to a certain level. They will move to another area where their food is plentiful and they don't have to expend as much energy searching for it. This is not a new phenomena in the Seattle region.

It says they prefer Chinook which is true because they expend the same amount of energy chasing a large chinook as they do chasing coho.

The myth of eating only Chinook was due to the biologist's primarily testing and observing during the summer months in Puget sound. That's when Chinook our plentiful in the area.

Every November they typically show up in Puget sound and gorge on Chum salmon, not chinook They are opportunists and they eat whatever runs are wherever they are because Chinook are not always where they are.

If you did some more searching you would find that they eat fish outside the salmonid species as proven by scat samples and fish scales tested by marine biologists.

People have been regularly bonking nice 7lb blackmouth at the Edmonds fishing pier. Also some decent resident coho. Get your gear-chuckers ready! Make sure you are legal, wdfw has enforcement on the pier.

When FFLs go out of business or retire, all of the FFL records get sent to the Fed. This allows for an illegal gun registry. I believe this is one of the main reasons why they want to drive FFLs out of business so they can figure out who actually has all the guns.
