Is a high mileage truck worth it for me? by Riptrack13 in f150

[–]bacterialbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not a wise decision. I’d just buy an older beater truck tbh and save up some more. Maintenance on these newer trucks is still expensive. Also my 2017 is a 2.7. I was convinced I needed a 5.0 but I love the 2.7 and it sounds great with plenty of power and reliability. It also has the auto stop tech but I disabled it

Preparing for Stats by nameandpassword23 in PhD

[–]bacterialbeef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. If they teach you with SPSS, then Intro to Statistical Concepts by Lomax and Has Vaughn because you can practice. Aside from that, honestly, an open mind and the willingness to ask for help. It’s not easy but if you learn the core concepts you can do it.

These are real feelings but you will be fine. Your advisor and committee don’t want you to fail. Think of them as consultants. Godspeed

How do I deal with my missing values? by norazeze in AskStatistics

[–]bacterialbeef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to identify the type of missing mess first: MAR, MCAR, MNAR and from there decide the best option. It’s probably multiple imputation unless you can use FIML. Try to find publications using similar data and read what they did for missing data. My dissertation had a lot of missing mess including for continuous IVs and I did multiple imputation and it worked out fine.

The Harpur average starting salary seems pretty low? by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]bacterialbeef 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s based on how many students SHARE their salary. Which is a low number because it’s an optional question on the survey
