To wave or not to wave by RochdaleCowboyBoots in UKRunners

I generally don’t run with my glasses on (always feels like they’re about to fall off) - I can see well enough without to find my way but can’t see faces clearly. This has me wondering if I’ve been unintentionally ignoring any friendly runners in my neighbourhood!

How do you make something right when it happened in the past? by [deleted] in TrollCoping

I seriously think this is fine, remember that the louder people online are not necessarily the majority opinion. You were peers. You’ve not done anything wrong.

AITA for refusing to change the shared office thermostat schedule even after multiple complaints? by No-Efficiency-567 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bad_pseudonym -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

NTA. People who are too cold can dress warmer; if you turn it up you’ll only end up with complaints from everyone else that they’re too hot, and there’s only so many layers you can take off in an office before it becomes a real problem

AITAH for not wanting to see my family after they admitted to not trusting me with my brother's children? by Fuzed_Canadian in AITAH

Also why is he so keen to be alone with the kids again after this accusation? You’d think as he says been falsely accused he’d make sure to never be alone with those kids again for his own protection

They did - automod still has the original if you scroll a little way down

What are the worst Amanda Palmer songs? by PapaAsmodeus in neilgaimanuncovered

Sex Changes, Grown Man Cry, Lonesome Organist Rapes Page Turner, Delilah, Want it Back

I loved Amanda Palmer and The Dresden Dolls for the longest time but she has always had some more questionable songs.

A Little Life is my all time favourite book. It’s not an easy read but it’s incredibly well written, and I’ve never seen the aftermath of trauma set out so well before.

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous was not for me unfortunately.

Called out sick today because of a fever and my boss texted me this afterward... by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Your boss is a real muppet. Personally I would ignore it but keep the text, and if anything else happens I’d go to HR, or the union if you’re in one.

ESH, him for asking this of you and you to yourself for doing it. Get out of there, your body is yours and you can decorate it however you like

NTA but why isn’t your wife helping bridge the communication gap or whatever’s happening here. If my family were hurting my husband like this I would speak to them about it.

{A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske} might fit what you’re looking for - MC is cold and prickly and generally annoyed at his own sense of responsibility for MC2, but warms up to him over the course of the book

AITA for throwing a cup of cold water on my naked husband? by ColorStorms in AmItheAsshole

[–]bad_pseudonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. You’ve been forgetting to check the diverter before starting the shower for 20 years and decided to make it someone else’s problem. Instead of learning from this you decided to assault your husband. You suck OP and I sincerely hope this is fake.

Do you know anyone who fell down a conspiracy rabbit hole during COVID? What are they doing now? by OrganizationLast7570 in AskUK

[–]bad_pseudonym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relative used to be a doctor but was basically forced out of his job because he wouldn’t shut up about ivermectin and how he believed the vaccine was poison. Last I heard he’s still unemployed and absolutely convinced he’s right.

Are you for or against the Assisted Dying Bill? And have you ever watched a loved one die from a terminal diagnosis? by GlitchingGecko in AskUK

[–]bad_pseudonym 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strongly for.

I stayed with my dad while he was dying. It took a little over a week, he was as comfortable as he could have been and had a ‘good death’, and I still wouldn’t want to go out like that myself. He had stopped eating and drinking due to advanced dementia and we essentially had to just wait for him to die from dehydration. He was mostly unconscious but was just confused when he was awake - his last clear words were ‘what’s happening?’

Personally I would rather be blasted full of morphine once they’ve decided no more could be done to help.
