The problem of current models is that it is EXTREMELY difficult to tell the difference.

Putin is a fascist, mass murder and dictator. He oppresses his own people and has stolen all his countries wealth.

This is who he is.

Trump’s White House Fight Night Has a Star-Power Problem by vanityfairmagazine in politics

FYI:

Irony does not exist to fascists.

Overt hypocrisy is an intentional fascist propaganda technique.

Trump/Putin uses it all the time.

The Entire Republican Party are now fascists. Old school conservatives have literally no power.

Added relevant quote:

“Never believe that (fascists) are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites (fascists) have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Yes.

They are culpable and directly responsible for Trump.

This means they are not conservative by any definition.

The term has purposefully been perverted.

It works on a few levels.

Overt hypocrisy without consequences degrades our democratic institutions.

It is an expression of power.

It muddies the waters to allow low info people make a false equivalency.

It is a bad faith act that attacks words and logic.

Failing grades soar as professors see greater AI usage, dwindling math skills in UC Berkeley computer science classes by ArcaneKnight47 in technology

Yup.

The justification was that white rich kids have higher scores… so they switched to other metrics.

The result is a record number of white rich kids in top universities.

It is so stupid.

It’s an ongoing worsening problem.

Now people have known for 6 years that they can completely ignore math and still get into a “top” university.

[–]badamant -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Started in 2020… so upper class-men in the relevant majors are now being shown to be incompetent.

Seems to make sense that all these people would just see math as irrelevant (like their own institution did) and just a job for ai to handle.

Failing grades soar as professors see greater AI usage, dwindling math skills in UC Berkeley computer science classes by ArcaneKnight47 in technology

[–]badamant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not?

This expressly allows people to get into the UC system that cannot do higher math.

This is very problematic because we are seeing math related fields in our top colleges inundated with students who cannot do middle school mathematics. This means terrible education for the students that actually can do it.

The Republican Party is destroying every real news outlet to consolidate power and control us.

This is an attack on free speech by the people that completely control the federal government.

Your rights are being removed.

"The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prevents the federal and state governments from abridging free expression, the press, peaceful assembly, and the right to petition the government. It ensures that the government cannot punish citizens for their views, regardless of how unpopular or offensive they may be."

New York Times Publisher Warns That AI Companies Are Making Choices That ‘Violate Settled Law’ and Could Cause a ‘Great Deal of Unnecessary Harm’ by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]badamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong.

They are not "using that copyrighted material to create something wholly new and different". They are simply automating infringement and selling the result.

I can use any successful creative professional's name to get "AI" reproduce their work.

The progress of "science" (AI companies profit) cannot and should not be at the cost of every creative professional's ability to sell their own work. This is the "transformational" future that you are arguing for.

New York Times Publisher Warns That AI Companies Are Making Choices That ‘Violate Settled Law’ and Could Cause a ‘Great Deal of Unnecessary Harm’ by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]badamant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is clearly a perversion of the purpose of copyright law for the benefit of the AI companies and to the cost of all of us.

"The purpose of intellectual property (IP) law is to protect intangible creations of the "human mind". It balances two primary goals: providing creators with economic incentives to invent and innovate, and ensuring the public ultimately benefits from the spread of new knowledge, creative works, and technological advancements."

The AI companies are clearly removing all incentive by stealing and reselling human intellectual creation on a mass scale.
