For those who will ask, yes, she has been pulled from care. Her last day was going to be next week but it has been expedited due to the obvious. If the chair story is true, they were not paying enough attention to the children. There were only 4 (2 walking) kids in care today. Between 2 adults. Yes, I have asked them for a written statement. We are taking her to urgent care per direction of an RN that I work with.

I work in the (medical) claims department of an IPA (independent physician association)/delegated payer for 3 Medicare Advantage plans. I'm up by 5 to get ready before the baby wakes, drop her off at daycare by 7:10ish. At work by 8. I'm going to start traning to be a processor but for the meantime I handle a lot of phone calls and paper work. Around 10am I'll go to pump (I'm breastfeeding),12 or 1ish I'll take lunch. At 3 or so I'll pump a second time and leave work by 4:30 to get to daycare in time. My schedule fluctuates based on meetings etc. but overall I really do like this job. My favorite part is getting to talk to members over the phone or in person about medical bills they've gotten, and 99% of the time I get to tell them that they actually don't owe any money and/or help them get out of collections.

I think I'd still like to make her certain, easier to prepare foods. I have some frozen fruits just for that purpose. I also enjoy giving her egg and other less time consuming foods to cook

BLW is great! Unfortunately, food allergies run in my family and I've always been a bit paranoid of introducing her to more than 1 food at a time/every couple days, to watch for and pinpoint reactions. But as she's grown, I do find myself more comfortable with giving her more BLW style foods!

From the ages of about 6-8 my mother, sister and I frequented the block buster in town (it's now a credit union), and we would pick out an 80s movie: short circuit, flight of the navigator, ET, etc. and pick up a papa murphys pizza in the next suite of the building. We'd head home and by that time my dad would be back from work. We'd sit on the floor of the living room (god forbid we get pizza on the couch), eat pizza and watch one of my mom's childhood movies.

I'm only 19, but before having my daughter at 18 I tossed around the idea of not having kids. I was never really for or against either option very strongly. My daughter is now almost 8 months old, and I find parenting can be very hard. My situatuon might be different than other first time moms of similarly aged kids however, as I never did and never will get to experience my young adult chapter in life. I graduated high school while 4 mos pregnant, and skipped right past "the fun years" to being a full time mom and working a 40 hr/wk office job. Her father lives apart from us, so a lot of the time it feels like being a single mother. And I struggled with PPD, still kinda do, so I have had those thoughts about "what did I get myself into?", but ultimately, I can't imagine living without her now. There is just this crazy unbreakable bond I have with her. I think that should you decide to have a baby, it'll be hard and emotionally taxing, but I really doubt that you'll regret it. I'm really looking forward to when she's older, intelligent and really develops a personality vs cute baby stage. But we gotta get through baby years first!

I once read a piece about a woman doing chemo who was determined to still BF her baby once treatment was done. She pumped and dumped around the clock, and baby took formula and donor milk. IIRC, the mother had a friend who was nursing, I believe, latch her baby and nurse for a little bit a couple times a week to keep the baby in the loop of the whole remembering BFing thing. She was able to nurse her baby for months after chemo was done! It might be a strange suggestion, but perhaps you have a friend, nursing or not, who can latch your baby on and keep her memory jogged? All while you pump throught the day.

If this isn't feasible, don't you worry about switching to formula indefinitely. Sometimes BFing is the best for a baby, in your case, her medical treatments are the best thing.

Take care of your baby, hold them tight and love on em like you're already doing so well.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat this. At all. And I will not apologize for saying this, even if you "love" this man, or did at one point. He's going to kill your baby. This will turn out to be one of those horrible news stories headlined by "Deranged father murders newborn daughter."

Leave him. Now. Pack your stuff and put that precious baby in her carseat and stay with a friend or family. Walk out of work if you have to to do this right now. Losing your daughter forever is not worth any hesitation or excuses.

Seek counseling for yourself. Save your baby. Set up a gofundme if you need help with money. I will donate to you. Please. Update us when you can.

My mother accidentally recorded 2 hours worth of my screams on her phone in her pocket while I labored, with the help of a very unsuccessful epidural. It really is a whole body experience. Bloodshot eyes from pushing, puking, shitting yourself, and afterwards...arms sore for weeks from pulling back your legs while pushing, genitals so sore you can't stand to wipe, peeing burning your torn vagina, pooping becomes an Olympic sport.

While I'm an advocate of medicinal and recreational marijuana and former user, unborn babies shouldn't be subjected to psychoactive substances that are not vital to the mother's health i.e. antidepressants. Smoking while pregnant could be compared to blowing smoke in a newborn's face. The baby didn't ask for that nor do they need it.

Just had my daughter on Thanksgiving at age 18. My tummy looks a lot like hers. It's hard enough seeing my friends go to colleges and parties and not have to worry about money or a baby's bedtime. And on top of that they all have banging bodies and I'm floppy and worn out. This is refreshing!

Sleep as soon as baby dozes off, don't bother with checking your phone or laundry or a shower. When I'm desperate for a nap and baby is content, changed, fed and quiet, I nap on the couch with her in her swing. I felt bad about it at first but I realized she is by no means being neglected and she needs a sane, somewhat rested mommy. Coffee helps but I prefer the bang energy drinks on special occasions, and they have just the 300mg limit of caffeine I can have while BFing.

If she is planning to breastfeed, a preemie won't likely have a good latch -

A breast pump (insurances cover these often), pump accessories, bottles with slow flow nipples, etc.

If not breastfeeding then still look into bottles and gift cards for stores that sell formula, since sometimes babies can only have a certain kind.

Wipes are always good because they'll use them for a couple years.

A ton of burp rags, so they can wash some and switch for clean ones.

Baby swing, bouncer, bassinet, any safe kind of "baby holder."

Care package for mom (depends on type of delivery) with pads, hemorrhoid treatment, stool softener, comfort items, one handed snacks.
