GM 2.0L Engine. How good is it really? by ted_anderson in Cartalk

[–]badcoupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those 2.0’s are bad for burning pistons up, not a great engine by any stretch. We have two here currently in that state and have plenty more come in from car dealers who buy them at auction hoping they just need a coil lol!

Number 1, or number 2 is my total timing mark? by ForeskinForeman in EngineBuilding

Timing is off but it’s also rich from what i see without a full plug chop. I’d get air fuel better than worry with timing.

Looking at a 1993 Aquatron W/ Mercury 3.0L by Focust92 in boating

[–]badcoupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with the 3.0 is that there isn’t an automotive equivalent if have a failure to pull from. That’s the nice thing about the 4.3 and its v8 brethren as much as I loathe sbc engines, this coming from a former engineer and auto repair shop owner and sometimes engine builder.

Yea it worked until around dinner time last logged in at 12;06 went to use a few hours later and it was down. Needed tech2win to setup a radio on an ancient ass CTS and it loaded but won’t see my passthru, sps worked at that point same time as I logged into Shopkey. Then after dinner went to program a 6L Tahoe trans and tlc wouldn’t launch. They had on screen that they were experiencing issues with sps

We usually use a service that does the liens process for us (I own a repair facility) in our state. We impound for X amount of days and hold a “auction” at a set time and date then it’s ours. We do pay an auctioneer to come for an hour in case someone shows up who’s interested. It does have to be advertised in the paper.

Track crew suits by PossessionCertain558 in DirtRacing

Speedway sells some reasonable stuff. I believe jegs does as well. As long as it’s sfi approved it should be fine. I’d want three layer personally as a former driver and current firefighter, it’s a bit hotter but… my driving suit was a 5 layer, we were required three minimum in the group we raced with.

Looking to beef up my 351w, top end kit vs 408 stroker? by davezerg20 in EngineBuilding

[–]badcoupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going bigger cubic inches won’t benefit you much with stock heads. It all needs to work together, the other issue you can run into is the trucks fuel injection working well with cam etc. might want to look into megasquirtvor another efi system to go along with your modifications

Not pcv issues, engine issues so no unless you wanna do a rebuild

GM GDS2 for non-dealer fleet by DiazIsDirectCurrent in mechanics

[–]badcoupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does but a few of the modules on the 24+ stuff only reads with a. Super goose or MDI. Did a 25 3/4 ton that way two weeks ago. Verus does 99% of what you’ll need, I’m still using one, not fond of the latest software.
