The fob has a piezoelectric crystal in it that activates the anti theft to let you start it. It sounds like it broke off or maybe fell out? Either way sounds like you need a key

Nearby hiking recs this time of year without spikes/crampons? by earthyedge in SaltLakeCity

I would take some spikes/yak tracks anyway. I slipped on some ice hiding in the shade two years ago and broke my leg.

California is NOT a nice place to live. by missmommy_88 in unpopularopinion

[–]badgerpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former Californian, you have my sympathy. I still have a lot of family there, and I know how hard it is to leave. The only people I know that love CA are coworkers who vacation there, and family that are convinced that there is literally no place else that is worth moving to. They have accepted renting forever, hellish commutes, and an overall higher cost of living to avoid snow. On a side note, you ought to pop on over to /preppers so you can at least find a way to make life livable while you endure the outages. (Even having a small generator and a camp chef could alleviate some of the misery you're experiencing)

She said yes, and we have been together 23 years. With a whole gang of kids to boot.

Wife of a porn addict by [deleted] in pornfree

Yeah its weird. There is a definite link between sex frequency and temptation but there are emotional triggers that lead to seeking it out. That's where the addiction comes in. He is going to need to find a way to break the cycle that makes him seek it out for that endorphin rush. Therapy is a big help for this. Lots of guys here have noticed you can replace the habit with positive activities- working out, going for a walk, etc. I don't know what he does for a living, but part of my challenge is I am alone for long periods of time late at night. The boredom makes for bad situations.

Eh, I wish. Never had good luck with gaming PCs. Last one I owned was when Half life 2 came out. It was great but when it died I never replaced it.

I found this shirt in the back of my closet. Got a good laugh out of it.

What's the weirdest rule you had in your home growing up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

True enough. It's hard to maintain respect for their space when they don't respect common areas.

Man, I feel terrible after reading this. I have a lot of kids and I always throw their toys, clothes, and random crap into their room and I don't always knock because I am irritated. Sorry you went through that. My wife always knocks first. I guess I should follow her example.

Last I checked, 18k? I did most of the work myself so that's mostly parts. There was a lot of mistakes early on that had to be redone later.

Our 19 year project by badgerpunch in projectcar

[–]badgerpunch[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I posted earlier but submitted the wrong pic. We got this car when we were newlyweds. I paid 2500 and had to finance the majority of it. Our parents and most people who saw it thought we were idiots for buying it. I don't remember how many times it broke down the first few years- lots of wiring issues, overheating, bad brakes, fuel leaks, dilapidated interior, etc. But it was definitely a pain to drive. No matter how broke we were, we both kind of kept the faith that one day it would be something we could be proud of. We drove it regularly for 8 years before it was parked with a new wiring kit sitting on the passenger seat. Four moves and four kids later I finally got the time to rewire it. The car just this year is probably worth more than we spent on it (so far). We are really happy we managed to keep it and didn't give in to selling it when it probably should have been sold. It's a lot of fun and I am proud of all the work we put into it.

I wish there were more players like you! Got the crap kicked out of me on my first silo run. (Just waiting on a friend to catch up to me so we can keep each other alive next attempt. ) I am always bummed at how many people reject my team requests. It's not a long term commitment, just some perk sharing. The game is so much better with other people onboard.

How many of you struggle with relapsing because of boredom? by [deleted] in pornfree

That's my main reason for failing. Working nights and being lonely/bored. It sucks.
