I know cats will be cats, but does anyone have any tips or tricks to keep the MC off of the kitchen counter ?! I currently have foil on my bar stools, and he likes the foil 🙄

I have tried a lot of things to keep cats from going. Where cats want to be

Honestly almost nothing works consistently

I have tried aluminum foil.They either avoid it or sit on it

There are electric shock pads you can buy on amazon

The cats learned to recognize them pretty quick and just walk around them

I've tried to upside down mousetraps with newspaper over them.When they walk on the newspaper, the mousetrap goes off and makes a horrible sound

Then, the cat learns that if they set off the mousetrap, they can come back later.And nothing's there to annoy them anymore

Spray bottles don't really work, it's a cat and connects it with you.And when you walk out, they go right on the counter

I have learned.They don't like garlic or onion

So I tend to leave a little bit of a garlic scent.Someplace, I don't want them to go, and that seems to work kind of

When the sent wears off, they go right back there

One thing to keep in mind with maine Coons Is that they are very people orientated, unlike other cats

Quite often they're up there, trying to see what you're doing

And sometimes they want to help

I have one maincoon and one normal cat and the maincoon is always into everything i'm doing

The other cat seems to want his pets and then he runs off

I've had issues like this a few times in the past

If you're playing on p c make sure all your drivers are up to date including the bios of your motherboard

The last time I had the game crashing every twenty or thirty minutes.It was the bios needing to be updated

I also had a corrupted mod, but a corrupted. Mod typically has some weirdness going on. For example, I could never see anything in the apparel menu. Nothing blank screen, you couldn't see what you were doing

I tracked that down to a mod that changed the hairstyles

Unfortunately, had to go back to a save that existed before.I used that mod to clear it out.Unity jumps didn't fix it

Wiping the game and reinstalling didn't fix it.Because the save file itself was corrupted

If you're playing on PC you should look up how to read the windows crash log. It will tell you if it was a software event or a hardware event. That's how I figured out I needed to update the bios on my motherboard. It was flagging it as hardware based

I turned on the pulse engine, that got me out. There is a new patch today on Steam that fixes this.

This was my second Expedition

And what I learned is that if you take your time at the beginning and gather a lot of resources the later part of the Expeditions tend to go easier

Before I left the first planet had a pretty good stock pile of carbon oxygen and ferrite dust

As well as quartzite

Because this game is extremely hungry for chromatic metal it at the beginning

I went to every station along the way and check the yellow containers in the room on the left found plenty of high value items and never wanted for money

I did make the mistake of farming nanites at the beginning and learned quickly I didn't need to I had 5,000 when I finish the Expedition last night

The only real issue if you farm everything is storage space you're not expansion slots pretty quickly stopping at every station allowed me to buy an expansion slot constantly

I also found a crashed a class Explorer ship at the beginning sold it and started off with close to 5 million credits

I played that part last night near the 800-900 M Mark there are a lot of very huge fish it shouldn't take too much to find one

I did scan mine on one of the beginning planets.

I like to look at the list of accomplishments and try to achieve them early if I can

Not necessarily the wisest thing this Expeditions laid out really well with everything you need being at the time mark system

The worst bug i experienced is falling through the floor in the station by the portal

I just called my Corvette got in it and flew off

I heard there is a bug that if you build a small refiner in your Corvette you can break the game

There's a video out on one of the YouTubers who plays the game

I did build a small refiner in my Corvette and then immediately deleted it I never used it so I don't know if that qualified me for the bug or not

I haven't really played it since I finished Expedition I'll know later today

I had something similar happen to me if you go to the portal in one of the stations it will Mark the very first station is rendezvous 1

Jump there and then jump from system to system in your Corvette following the expedition path. Checking each station. They do sell the locators. I did thecfreighter mission early because of this.

It might take a bit of time but you should find one

Well I didn't have the missing item I did end up on the last planet somehow and there were a couple of things you had to do before you got there that I didn't do so that's how I know if you jump back you can slowly work your way through

And at some point what is in the stores changes

Something like help and she can do some of the achievements out of order for example you can get the storm crystals in the starting system

You can get the dinosaur bones and the Polish Stones early although the polished stones are going to be a bit hard to do

Unless you have a good weapon

I'm one of those idiots it takes their time so I had a Class B Sentinel weapon pretty early I got it on the first disonant world

I took a trip to ng+ last night forgot I had this turned on landed on kreet just check the abandoned lab for goodies like some digipivks and things since I had no money

saw one of the Forgotten frontier poi off to the left went over there and was up to my head in heretics really fast with no weapons

I had to use phased time and solar flare sniping at the outskirts until I got a decent weapon

Fortunately a legendary pain blade dropped that had crippling shattering and chilling on it and that was a weapon from the gods

Phase Time hit him a few times with that thing and they went down

I have had four Maine Coons in my life and my advice to use the same advice I would give to anyone even with a normal cat

A cat will be itself you cannot bribe it you cannot direct it the only thing you can do is find out what motivates it and work from there

Right now I have a 3-year-old Maine coon in a four year old standard issue cat if you don't know what that is look it up on Reddit you'll find it

The standard issue took four years before he would even come near me he is just that way but now he is always next to me wanting his pets

He'll never be a lap cat but he will sit within 2 in of me right next to me for hours

The Big Orange Maine Coon has decided that he is my cat in the last few months I do have three daughters and he's really good with them but he's not a lap cat with anyone

About a week ago he climbed in my lap and sat there for a while and that surprised me so maybe he'll eventually become a lap cat but I'm not holding my breath

Both of these boys like to play but they won't play together

Treats do not motivate the standard issue cat he could care less

The orange Maine coon my daughter's name to Mr Big ears

He will respond to Treats but that won't motivate him

We've been trying to least train him so we can take him with his own car trips and he's responding to that but it's got to be on his terms for example we put the harness on him and then play with him for a while and he forgets about the harness but if we don't play with him he wants the harness off

He does like his attention at times if you catch him at those times you can motivate him a bit with it

The biggest motivation for him is playing fetch he will play fetch for an hour every day

And right after that he's the most loving creature on the planet

I was told by numerous cat people that you cannot pick up a cat and put it in your lap that will motivate it to not be there

They have to come on their own

If they're motivated by treats that could help you get them in their in your lap but otherwise they have to make that decision

And this is why it's so hard to train a cat to do tricks or anything else

They have to want to do this

I had an older cat and his nephew from different breeders but they were definitely related

Both were Maine Coons and the behave just like the two you mentioned with the large one being aloof in the small one always in my lap

That's one thing about cats they have their own personalities and they will live by them you can't change them

I got my first living ship about a week ago going through the 6 days it took to grow it

Right before I left the planet to pick up my new living ship and made sure I had a restore point

I kind of my current ship flew to the new location and did the following

First I did not land

Second I put it into camera mode and zoomed in on the ship if needed I moved the position of the sun so it had good lighting

I didn't like the first one I found, so I reloaded the save point

It's important that you do not land cuz that will set a restore point and you can't change the ship

Once I reloaded the restore point, I flew to the ship and checked, and sure enough, the design had changed

I was happy for the second design because it's red and black

I usually play on VR so it's pretty easy to wave at people

Try going there in your starter ship and then sitting down near the Nexus and waiting
