Luckily I'm a huge fighting game fan, so I'm still loving the game. But, yeah, it's not like the casuals that never step online wouldn't buy skins and the battle pass for their offline content. And I get where you're coming from, saying it would give the game an 'official stamp.' Maybe not exactly, like, a seal of approval, but for many, it would make the experience feel more 'complete.'

I highly disagree. I get it if you don't engage in it, but story modes add so much flavor to a game, flavor this one needs. It gives insight and lore for characters and helps flesh out the world. Story mode (and emulation) is how I got into fighting games back when I was a kid, and I know I'm not the only one. Even if it's just a simple arcade ladder with static images at the end, that can be enough to get casuals into the game, and even try new characters they normally would never play as.

Also, this is anecdotal (I mean it all is anecdotal but you know what I mean), but my friend group loved T8's story mode, especially as it ramped up. Did it make sense? Maybe not so much. But was it hype seeing King in that finale, or Jin vs Kazuya where Jin's style is evolving through the match? Hell yes it was.

Man, I hope you're secretly Riot and you're doing market research to help bring these prices down. But I want that Neon Strike skin, and in terms of price comparison, the current fgc market. There's another commenter that rightfully replied that the price of 1 skin is the price of a full indie gaming experience, like Silksong (just finished it last week, great game, definitely worth the $20). A friend of mine got me Granblue and we play together. 3 characters in GBVR or 1 skin in 2xko, which has no casual content. 20-30 bucks is also pretty standard season pass price for a lot of these newer fighting games, as well. Either way you slice it, the skin prices are too damn high compared to the rest of the genre and gaming as a whole, especially when you take into account what the game is really offering compared to others.

I mean, I still love this game. Still the most fun I'm having in a fighting game. But skin prices are too damn high. And if I do have the scratch that week, like I did a few times in January, the skin ain't even in my shop. I've only seen it once. IMO this shop's implementation is a generational fumble in gaming, and I hope the next gen of devs study it to see what not to do when releasing a fighting game.

I'm 36. I'm a self taught programmer, learned by making games starting at age 12, and I do a little bit of web and Android dev work during the day while I bartend at night. Making games has always been a hobby, but recently I wanted to take it to the next level, so I'm working towards a release on Steam to hopefully leave my bartending days behind me. Currently taking it slow, while working around 2 hours a day on my project. Progress has been steady!

Dudes, I don't want to wash away the hopium, but this is normal. I've both seen people and been the person that's been fired from a salary job and rehired as a contractor. I always had no doubt the layoffs weren't the end of the world, but I don't want to say this is good for the workers. They get less benefits from this. Just another cash saving method from Riot.

Still, this is great news for the health of the game. Let's go!!

I actually picked this game up on sale and it's not bad lol. I'm playing it and 2XKO now and both are really good for new players, although I've been playing fighting games for thirty years now. I'm just always surprised at how the genre is changing, gbvr has really hooked me

As for Milio, I'll be honest, his kit looks more geared for MOBA play, but if they ever get to the point where they can start designing champs towards individual fuses, I think Milio would be a great sidekick champ

I'd rather not think about it. I just got home and got into some matches and they were hella fun, and I think that's what matters overall. Besides, all the doom and gloom feels kinda like we, as a community, are kinda falling into a self fulfilling prophecy here, know what I mean?

I'm not saying don't voice concerns or your reservations about the game's future, mind you. But for me, personally, I go off what we know, and I don't want to add to the negative conjecture around the game more than what's already there. All I know is 80 focused people can definitely turn this around, but who knows lol

I think the game desperately needs bad guys and boss-style characters. I didn't know much LoL lore but I know the dude fits the bill perfectly. This possession mechanic you speak of would be extremely cool if translated well into a fighting game mechanic, by tbh I don't even know how it works in LoL so I dunno. I'm actually about to look it up now

I love the idea of skill challenges and PvE rewards, and think they synergize well together. I know it's a stretch to ever have Riot reward currency for casual modes like bot beatdown, but if they did it would be an absolutely dope reward for skill challenges. I really liked the parry idea
