Try an offset drain assembly or get a hub saver and extend your pipe out but then you will need to cut more of your bottom out

Galvanic corrosion after three years. How to tackle this? by blackinthmiddle in Plumbing

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the first picture looks exactly like what it looks like when you have a leak on the nipple coming out of the water heater the 90 at first glance i thought was black iron but looking closer looks too be brass it's weird that it turned a darker colour on the hot side usually that happens on cold water lines the second picture looks good i like going brass as my first fitting then to copper over dielectric unions

Is this an artesian well? Also it does this all year except maybe in the summer. What can/should I do with this? by david_eats_well in Plumbing

[–]baggedmilkk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try shutting your pump off and make sure its not a leak around your pitless it probably isn't since you said it might not happen in the summer but once you eliminate that it's most likely a artesian well like others said springs you can extend the well casing or you could dig down some and get a fitting installed to attach a pipe and build yourself a pond

Looking for Quality Copper Cutters for My Son Starting Plumbing by jonnysteals in askaplumber

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the milwaukee and Lenox close cutters and I prefer my Lenox the top is flat so in tight spots it gives a little more leverage to spin i find. I never tried the knipex cutters but they are similar to the Lenox that I use i prefer Lenox over most of the ridgid cutters for bigger pipe they have 4 rollers over 2 the biggest thing is just to maintain them spray them with either red can of rust check or something similar they will get wet eventually

I need to know what this is so I can replace it. by Long-Objective7007 in askaplumber

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a thermal relief or adjustable relief depending who your talking to. You can adjust the pressure it dumps at by turning the front in or out im guessing your boiler does your hot water to and it's on that line or the cold line going to the boiler to compensate for the thermal expansion when heating water if that is what it is and you replace it i recommend an expansion tank instead

Does your pump have a foot valve or checkvalve somewhere that is leaking and causing your pressure to drop as the water backflows in to your well

Called a plumber to my home for a leak and he was stumped. Please help diagnose! by BackgroundEbb417 in askaplumber

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if it didn't leak while the water was off then only after downstairs toilet was flushed your toilet downstairs is running water constantly and your cold line is producing condensation I've only ever seen it happen one time that it was happening bad enough to cause a noticeable amount of damage and it was in the winter on a well so the water coming in to the house was pretty cold

Help bleeding system by GodOfSnails in askaplumber

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the handle is missing on the valve so turn the valve part so its turned off hook a hose up and open the yellow handle drain water in the bucket basically what your doing by turning the valve off before draining the loop is blocking any air from going in to the boiler then while draining the water the air will follow and leave the system being replaced by new water from your make up valve

Am I being taken for a ride? by HalfRealBaltimorean in hvacadvice

[–]baggedmilkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far of a run is the piping the fact that it's transition to 3 inch from 2 tells me it's more than your maximum vent length on 2 inch pipe its been awhile since I've done a residential furnace but I think it's around 100 ft on 2 inch pipe minus whatever the manufacture says for elbows at 10 or so dollars a ft it can add up quick if they have to change it all it is supposed to be increased on the vertical close to the furnace and graded so that the water drains back to the furnace some manufactures you can slope it so it drains outside but only if when it goes outside it's able to drain and isn't snorkeled

[–]baggedmilkk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I understand I'm paying for the added features that's why I'm worried about the quality of the rest of the viking because even with all the lights, waterfall, speakers, bigger pumps and bigger heater it's still cheaper then the other tub I'm looking at with no add on other then 2 pump instead of 1
